  1. More photos would indeed help, but from what I see that looks solid.
  2. Wow! That looks clean clean clean. Original paint is a huge score in my book (in any color and fwiw I really like Sahara), as I feel it's a very good leading indicator of how well the car was loved/maintained. Add in the extras, which IMHO the perfect ones for a fun, comfortable, yet still original-looking 02, and you've got one of a heck of a "ready to go" ride. Welcome to the club!
  3. These are Octavo's and fit well with 185/70's on Ireland Stage 1 springs.
  4. We had a fabulous time! Great to reconnect with some folks I met last year (my first) and meet some new ones this year. Here are some photos which y'all might like to see.
  5. Poop, link didn't link. Trying again https://www.flickr.com/photos/157803913@N06/albums/72157668164853778
  6. Wow, not sure how I missed these responses. Oops! and thank you! @mike that's a good question... I have a hundred or so photos and looking... yes! VIN is 1663226 @Conserv good eye! the radio on the parcel shelf is the original from the car that I had (for some reason I don't recall) put there when I took the photo. passenger seat (as is the drivers) are replacements. I got the original seats with the car too. I'm still kicking myself on selling this one... at the time it was the right thing to do: rust in the rockers, bad paint job with bubbling rust, no protected area to park it to keep these to a minimum when I couldn't address them, two young kids and other projects, etc... life! Hopefully it ended up somewhere good. I just found a bunch of pictures I took at the time, and I know ho much this crew enjoys photos, so have a look: https://www.flickr.com/photos/157803913@N06/albums/72157668164853778
  7. Oil change & valve adjust, check! Hitting the road Wednesday afternoon with my wife Patti and one daughter Daisy. Stopping in Allerton Iowa the night then in to Eureka Springs early evening Thursday. Road trip! Can't wait.
  8. Finally ordered CoCo mats a few weeks ago and they arrived! 7" and counting new snow didn't stop me taking them directly out to the garage to see how they fit and look. Hard to appreciate with this lame night-time and flash photo, but I think they're great with the Mintgrun paint and tan interior. Stoked for Mid-America Fest in three weeks!
  9. I owned this '68 verona sunroof 2002 for a while in the early 2000's in the SF Bay Area. I sold it in 2004, still kind of regret it... but it was the right call at the time -- I didn't have garage space for it and it had a bad maaco paint job with rust bubble starting to go nuts, and outside wasn't the place for it and i didn't have funds to do paint/body work. I bought it from the original owner, and I've always wondered what happened to it. I subsequently left the Bay Area to move to Minneapolis, so haven't been able to see it on the roads anywhere, assuming it's still in the Bay Area. Anybody seen this one around?
  10. Just booked a room and will be bringing my wife and one of our daughters. Looking forward to it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. This looks AMAZING. Bucket list for sure. But not this year.
  12. Not mine, no affiliation. Saw these pop up on local Craigslist here in Minneapolis. I'm not sure how they fit in a 2002 but thought I'd share in case. 13. I had a great time at my first time there last year. Excited to spend my 50th there this year! Bonus: bringing the prettier side of the equation with my wife and one of our daughters joining for the trip.
  14. Minnesota $33.50 one-time fee for a single collector plate (only one required, on rear of vehicle). What's crazy is any car 19 yrs old is considered a collector, and only has to be 9 years old for limited run vehicles. :0 It's because our harsh winters eat cars.
  15. Nice work. The drive shaft aspect of my 4sp to 5sp swap was my biggest learning "opportunity" : /. I just read through all the posts you've made and it's a great read!
  16. Here's that same trans about to go up into my '76. So glad I did this upgrade!
  17. 1971 Fiat Spider 1600 that I found in a junkyard in SF in the late 90's. Fixed the carb and drove back to MN where it now lives as the cabin errand runner. It's every bit as fun as my '02, in slightly different ways 'course, but dang fun in the twisty roads too.
  18. I used the Ireland Engineering shift plate and rear crossmember. Costs some $$$. Worked like a charm. http://www.iemotorsport.com/bmw/2002-clutch-driveline/025spdlist.html
  19. WOW! This is (hopefully) storybook. I too, tend to be obsessive and impatient on stuff like this. Totally get it! Only you know the nuances of the relationship and the communication level that will get you first chance. My advice: push it, but don't over push it. I love all the details our forum members have already been able to pick up and point on based on two photos. FAQ rocks!
  20. Doing a vanos and cooling system job on my wife's "new" e46 i bought her, nervous about going into an e46 after decades of 70's or earlier cars, thinking I got it all right, then to find that within a week the coolant light is on and it's a slow leak somewhere. The dread is that on my '02 getting in and sourcing this kind of stuff is SO MUCH EASIER. Not so with the e46 325xi...
  21. Welcome! Looks to be in good shape. We like pictures. More pictures!!! I have a '76 I bought in California and have had many years of good times with it.
  22. I've got this exact setup on my '76. Has been flawless for me since I bought the car in 2002. I've literally never touched anything on the carb, about 40k miles and 15 years later. Leave it!!
  23. I think they look awesome. I like the inner with different material than the bolsters/seat back edges going for the match in the rear. I'm biased as I have same seats in tan in my car. It took me a while to get used to them at first too!
  24. I just saw that ad too. It definitely needs to be saved and not parted
