  1. i bought 3.90 limted slip from this guy about 1 year ago paid 350$ for it .anyway just got the m2 running the car is still on jack stands .when i put it in 1st gear everything moved freely when i put it in 2nd and give it a little gas the rear end made a funny noise and locked up on me . i moved the wheels back and fouth and it freed up .started it again and did the same thing when i hit 2nd gear with a little gas .at idle it seems ok but when you give gas it locks up.so i pulled it out and took it apart dave varco said maybe a broken spider gear . all the bearings feel good and all the gears look good no chips anywhere and the oil looked good . anybody know anything about theses clutch packs could that lock it up ?? i called the guy i got it from he clams because i let it sit for a year

  5. i don't know about the M20 but the S14 has flywheel sensors , i had a bad one and it doesn't send a signal to the ECU one is for fuel injector signal and the other is spark and timing advance . you can do a test with a ohm meter that will tell you if its bad .i can't remember the numbers off hand
  6. i have a humming noise in my right front wheel (99 528i E39) when i turn to the left the noise gets quieter when i turn to the right it gets louder .does it sound like a wheel bearing and anybody had this problem with a car only 90k on it . my last E34 had 180k on it and i never had a problem
  7. i used the m3 oil pump thats why i added the sump to the pan , then i welded a bung to the oil pan for the return line for the oil vaper seperator. to mount the seperator i welded a 3/8" bolt to the motor mount it just sits on the edge of the mount and i have it double nutted to keep it about a 1" or so away from the block .you have to cut and reweld the bracket a little
  8. i did'nt want the engine bay the same color i used zolotone its flat gray with black and white specks

  10. got the motor in today with the transmission on it ,tight fit but we got it
  11. well you need somthing to hang it from, cost about 300$ for a used set ,you have to make new brake lines .by the time i finshed it with disc brakes on rear i bet it cost me 1000$ or better .i hope it worth it
  12. this is what it looks like all done .the tunnel is about 8 layers of fiberglass .just form chicken wire over the tunnel for a mold cover it with clear packing tape then lay up the glass and when it dries the mold pops right out
  13. its alot of work you also have to make your own mounts the 02 mounts won't work so you have to cut them out also. one of pics shows some plate welded to the tunnel that did'nt work so removed them and the bolt in front of it is the location of the 265 tranmission
  14. i did'nt build it yet right now i just have a short muffler bolted to the flange i guess i will go 2 1/2"
  15. you don't need that extra sheet medal in the engine bay for the wipers you need it for the hood latch but i'am using pins . its easier to get the motor in an out without that bulkhead plus i needed the room for the brake resivore . the inside is painted with zolatone sort of a gray with black an white specks ,very flat looking hides everything
  16. i have wipers this thing is street legal . i have a 12" electric fan that mount to the radiator thats all i had room for with the oil cooler front i also cut in some duct work in front of the cooler . the tries are 15x205/55 on 15x7 rims i got at IE about 3/4" taller than a 205/50 i wanted to fill the wheel wells
  17. the air dam i got from blunt and the pedals hang from a bar thats welded to the cage
  18. i don't like the fenders they look better fastened on with welting
  19. starting to come togther now motor this weekend .brakes are done and they work on the jack stands anyway . all the lites and gauges and fuel pumps wired ,got the wheels on .all thats left to do is put the motor in and hang the doors ,truck and hood and trim it .oh ya windows .heres some pics . blunt you like the signal lites
  20. i built a cobra kit car a few years back and it came with a painless harness and i'll tell you its worth every penny .you mount the fuse panel run power to it and all the wires are labeled left side right side all the lites ,blinkers ,heater,wipers etc,etc,etc . there is alot to wiring a whole car .i'd think about it bin there done that
