  1. you got a long way to go . get the scraper and the torch and start scraping all the black tar out ity takes a few hours
  2. hey steve any chance the oil separator on the side of the motor next to the starter is leaking oil running down the block and it looks like the pan is leaking because you must of had the pan off when you changed over to the 02 pan . if not i would try tighting the bolts a little more it can't hurt . taking the pan off would be my last resort . BTW hows my mirror gaskets and lower clips coming along

  4. did you have power going to the senors .low voltage 2.5 volts . thats good that senors checked OK .it just a process of elimination now
  5. steve before you take evey thing apart .i checked my senors just now pull the connetor apart and check the ohms mine read .937 and .973 its suppose to .940 + or - .050 . and the incoming power is very low only about 2.5 volts so it won't lite a test lite .this happened to be after i had the car runnig for about a month it just droped dead on me and took about a mouth to figure it out it was just a 50$ cylinder position senor .hope this helps. BTW the bosch test lite is BOSCH PFI 3405 is the part # cost 3.87 $$$$$
  6. steve i've been thought this 100 times its the crank senor . that sends the signal to the ECU witch grounds each injector to make it fire. you can pull the to senors out (the two long ones) and check the resestance on them they should be the same (think .94 + or - .05 or .094 +or - can't remember . i have the book i'll look in the morning . bosch also make a little lite that plugs into the injector lead and lites up its working right . go to a good parts store and get one their 5$ autozone won't have it
  7. you did try having the transmission in gear and turning the tail shaft if that dosen't work than the clutch plate is'nt lined up . did you use a alignment tool ?? if your just changing the tranmission went you took it out if you only came out a few inchs and let it drop a little your clutch is not aligned

  9. i did'nt do anything to the shock towers they did'nt need any work .the roll cage is tied in to them so their plated on the top but thats it
  10. thanks the paint is called zolatone its very tough stuff .it comes in lots of colors but i think you need a low pressure pot gun to spray it . i did all the body work and primer but had frend who owns a body shop paint it he so he painted the inside .
  11. got alot done this week hood and trunk on alui panels mounted in back seat , hood insulation glued on i got some nice stuff from JC whitney or all places i look everywhere .not cheap 89$ for 32"x54" .i got the hood latch to work cutting and welding and had to make a plate for the middle support and i got my vanity plates today all i need now is nice weather it snowed 5" last night
  12. i own a few cars 74 TR-6 , 74 M2, cobra kit car and 88 porsche cab hate to say it but most porsche owners are dicks . they think that its the only sports car in the world . i like my 88 but the M2 will smoke it unless you do all the work to keep it up its big $$$$$ a bosch crank senor for a BMW about 50$ a bosch crank senor for a porsche 165$ for the same fuckin part it makes me sick whenever i have to buy somthing for it . 215k miles would scare me . look around their out their .i found mine with 65k for 17k it needed a new top and the rear calipers were sticking
  13. looks like a well built car has a lot of goodys i'am not a big fan of two tone paint but its bad . i don't think you built it for 15k. why you thinkin about bidding on it
  14. i belive the two senors are the same but you have to have them pluged in right. good luck and have a fire ex handy you never know . BTW before you start it pull the coil wire and crank it to make sure you have oil press . that 16 valve motor makes alot of noise with out oil

  16. well thats sucks i've been building a club racer for the last year and i live only 45 minutes from the track , this is the first i've heard of this but i just read it
  17. if its a race car the best place would be to weld a hoop off the roll cage .use the bottom bar that runs next to the rocker at the bottom of the door .i did'nt do that yet but when i find the race seat i want thats what i'am going to do . alot of guys do that ,thats alot of work to replace the floor plus you it might make the car weaker
  18. if you lay the two PP on a level surface and put a level across them is one higher than the other .think the only thing i think of .and is their marks on the fork or the PP where they touch ??
  19. i just welded in the 02 pipe for now once i shake it all out i'am going to bring it to corsie they do custom exhaust sytems i'll get a 2 1/2" SS with some big ass coffee can coming out the back .just kidding . its not to loud with the stock center pipe and rear muffler
  20. well i took the first ride after work today just to see what would go wrong so far so good .the front tires rubbed a little bit when you turn the wheel all the way right or left but i think i can fix it with a BFH .it did'nt overheat ran at 160 oil press was good . brakes are a little on the hard side no booster but it stopped .guess i can start hanging panels and windows .heres some pics .i did'nt get out of 3rd gear it snowed and rained yesterday so the roads are shitty full or sand and salt
  21. blunt he's some local jerk the auto parts guy gave me his name said he had a 02 with some good parts he was parting out . do they have a rebuild kit for these limited slip units and can you get me one if thats whats wrong with it
