  1. Beautiful car indeed. Those remote boosters will be the death of me, or my car. The RHD '02s have two of those. The units are NLA and so are the rebuild kits. Bill, you need to have word to MT about these!!!!
  2. He was asking $3500 back in Jun. Maybe he'll go lower still?
  3. I had the same wheels/tyres as Otto on the Touring for 15 years or more with no apparent problems.
  4. I guess you're new here! Go here, check the History, then enter the parts section. http://www.bmwmobiletradition-online.com/ As Bill mentioned, you can get pretty much everything for your '02 thanks to Mobile Tradition. Use Home Depot for deck building, not '02s.
  5. That's a shame Rob. Let me know if I can help; but i'm not back in Texas until September. You can always park it at my house. I won't touch it......honest! lescartwright at juno dot com
  6. Trunk Floor part # 41 12 1 838 992 Try Maximillian, BLUNT, etc
  7. Touring Gutter left part# 51 13 1 820 713 right part# 51 13 1 820 714 As BLUNT mentioned, these are very delicate pieces. Try your local BMW Dealer; sometimes the Dealer is not too much higher than the "preferred" suppliers. By the way, expect to pay $150-170 each!
  8. Ok, I think have the right forum now. Rob, I saw your post below somewhere. I have a trailer you can use, but not until early September (if you're not in a hurry). Lemme know. You have to bring it back though!
  9. Geez Michael. I just wish I could get one of mine looking as good as yours did PRE-REFURBISHMENT! Take care with those "new" door handle seals; tighten down too hard and you cut the middle right out of them. I think the original (old stock) ones were thicker?
  10. So I thought i'll check/change the points in my "new" project car and found one of those in the distributor. Spend another good while trying without success to find another box that should (I thought) be connected to it. Don't honestly know much about it, the car will sit for a week or more and start right up in a nano second. This gizmo may not be the contributing factor, but it sure isn't hurting.

  12. The centre vertical ribs for mounting the centre & side grilles are spaced differently and the "late" US panels have square holes for the big bumpers, whereas the "early" panels had vertical slots for the bumper brackets to locate. If you get a "late" Euro nose panel it will still have the slots. You can make a "late" nose panel into an "early" one (and vice versa) by replacing the centre section, however, the mounting tabs for the side grilles may be positioned differently (not sure about that).
  13. They are supposed to be drain tubes. Not the best idea as the hole in the top of the tube (grommet end) is higher than the metal it sits into. I guess it will stop the cavity behind the blinker from filling up with water though.
  14. Flat black, or at least satin black to prevent sun glare/reflections in the driver's eyes.
  15. Neat. Plenty of room to strap the baby seat in! I was wondering how the car was coming along John.
  16. Ah, they don't make 'em like that anymore. May have been a different ending if the Rapier hadn't been t-boned!
  17. I'll be thinking of you while i'm sucking down a warm Tsingtao and snacking on a bowl of rice. Have fun.
  18. I have a pair you can have Rob for the price of a beer + shipping. BUT, i'm not back in the US until end of September. If you're not in a hurry, let me know.
  19. Any of you DFW owners going to the BMWCC Oktoberfest? If all goes to plan I should be back in TX for that week. Was thinking of bringing the Touring north, maybe for the Friday, staying overnight and tootling back south sometime Saturday.
  20. Probably because of the very "rare" clock instead of the tach. LOL Hmmm! I have 4 spare clusters, two with the 140mph speedos. With this guys' reckoning, I could swap them for a decent running '02.
  21. Rumour has it that "late" RHD tiis came with 140mph speedos. For some reason my '74 Touring had one from new also. Yours (minus the cross hairs) is an early one...........don't know where that one came from. Here's pics of mine.
  22. I guess, looking at the attached pic, you have tube #3. It is probably a "pressed" fit. No doubt removable, but probably not easily. If you try and bend the tube in-situ you run the risk of flattening it at the bend. Better to try and remove it, then get a pipefitters spring-thingy that sits inside the tube as you bend it to prevent flattening (or fill it with sand).
  23. Bought my Touring in 1986 with 76k miles. It has now done 110k miles. So....about 1600 miles/year.
