Congrats, glad someone that likes 2002s won.  Looks to be a great car.

Love ‘em!  First thing my wife said when I called her was, “Why are you calling me before you call the Club to confirm this is legit!?”  The second was, “you’ve talked about wanting a 2002 since the day I met you.”  That was more than 30 years ago…

Congrats! Were you able to pick it up and drive it home?

Thank you!  Not yet.  Title arrived today, so now I need to get shipping taken care of.  I’m in Minnesota, so as badly as I want to road-trip it home, this time of year gets a little squirrely and salty up here.  It’s rust free and I’ll shoot to keep it so - but it’ll get driven when the snow and salt clear!

It's official on the CCA site - I'm the lucky winner, and couldn't be happier to join you lot!  I've a little bit of a history with BMW (e36/5, e46, e83 manual, and e90), but have been in love with the 2002 since I lived in Germany in the early 80's.  I've always wanted to own one, but never in a million years did I expect to win it!  Special thanks to the several of you who have been helpful in taking my messages and answering my (many) questions.  I've lurked around FAQ for years, so time to dive in.  This site and the members are truly unique, and I mean that in all the best ways!

I woke up this morning thinking, “who won that damn thing?”

I’m really glad you posted.  Congrats - I’m really glad it went to someone that will appreciate it.  Wanting an 02 since the ‘80s…wow that’s a while.  And you got a really good one, too.  That’s the trick.

Good price, too.

Yeah here in SW Ohio they just dumped a bunch of salt on the roads.  So no 02ing until we get a good rain.  Could be a couple of weeks.

Enjoy it!  Hope to see you out and about.

Much appreciated, Scott, thank you!   I love that you can measure when the salt will be gone in weeks…it’ll be April/early May before I can say the same!  I’ll just need to live vicariously through you for a bit!  Enjoy it!!

Great story and SO glad it is going to someone who really wants it. Sounds like a win for everyone involved + we get another board member fan(atic).

Congrats!

Another welcome! You have some patience to wait 40 years for a car you love. I would never last that long!

Thanks, @m42002!  I was close a few times, but needing a daily in salt-country, kids, paying for their education...it just wasn't the right time.  But kids are on their own, wife hasn't kicked me and retirement is within site.  Looking forward to the Nevada '02 joining the drive for the rest of my days!

I consider this just real luck and fate smiled at me. She was on my side, so I decided to play at one of the best Australian casinos. A friend just showed me no deposit bonus codes 2024 australia and I decided it was time. I got two in one, so to speak.

Great win, congratulations! Wish I'd stumbled upon it earlier, would've loved to participate. Mine's in much worse shape, although I'm trying to get it back on track.
How's it doing these days?

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,
