Seeking advice on temporary exhaust repair

As I was merrily headed home from work yesterday on a nice afternoon, my ancient exhaust elected to convert from OEM to “sport” mode.  I know it’s time to replace everything from the manifold on back, but any advice on a quick fix to get me through the upcoming long weekend?  I am not planning on going far but it is going to be nice.  Would a product as shown work, or perhaps some titanium(!) exhaust tape and clamps?  There Is not much to work with, I know it looks like something brought up from the Titanic.

Looks like coffee can time.  Cut as long a piece and as wide as you can, roll it over the outside of a pipe as large or larger than the exhaust tube.  Squeeze it a bit and shove it inside to hold the pipe sections in alignment.  Then wrap it with the heat wrap stuff to stop the leaks..  Next week head for a muffler shop.

A radiator shop is a good place to take a leak.

I have no idea what I'm doing but I know I'm really good at it.

Got your moneys worth out of that exhaust.

Just cut out that section clamp and all and fit a piece of flex pipe. Slide it up  as far as you can on both pipes and secure. That may even last a week or two.

Thank you guys, all good advice. I’ll head to pick up some hose and clamps and give it a whirl. Not a big deal if it fails over the weekend and I have to limp home. I can always turn up my J.Geils “blow your face out” cassette to drown out the noise (“Made Loud to Play Loud”).  Tom

Im on the coffee can and hose clamp bandwagon. Or could just let it be loud....
