VIN 1678432 is a 1971 model, probably a December 1970 build.

 

Looks like a lot for the money, but obviously the rust needs to be evaluated carefully.  Speedo and tachometer heads are later, cross-hairs units (originals were all silver-dollar style), so don’t rely on the odometer reading. Looks to be quite complete and largely original nonetheless.

I just learned that a friend of a friend bought this car. Glad to see that it stayed in the area (southeast Wisconsin). I do not know the final sale price. But it is a keen lesson for me to keep a closer eye on the classifieds!!!
