Adj. camber plate solutions for stock spring size?

Any of you running an adjustable camber plate setup compatible with stock size spring I.D.? Running the popular H&R Sport/Bilstein HD set up but would like adjustable camber. Thx in advance for any suggestions.

Classical physics is working against you, here, as the 5" stock spring

is a pretty tight fit against the inner fender...  lower spacers might work,

if you're running narrower tires.

Well, dang it. ☺ Certainly makes sense. I have an old pair of e30 adjustable camber plates for an e30 with stock springs so I guess that inspired my wishful thinking. Assuming fixed plates would work ok?

I used the IE offset roll centre spacers but u do lose a tiny bit of castor.  If u find some I’ll get a set also as even another deg or so will be benificial.  

 

I to thought for a second to slot the bolt holes but decided that’s not such a great idea in a 44yo car

Fixed plates gain you the 5/8 or so that's available before the springs hit.

Not a bad thing.

 

I went looking for a smaller rubber top mount once- didn't find much...

Hmmm, so what's the recommended setup for lowered street setup? Fixed plates, offset roll center spacers, or both? Seems like they will both accomplish negative camber, but on opposite ends of the strut.... ?

Correct.  The use of one, or both, options is your call.  I generally just run the fixed plate as the offset roll center spacers require diligent maintenance and don't play well with smaller wheel diameters.   Basically, follow the path of least resistance. 

 

The (prior to cutting bodywork) scenario for stock diameter springs would include. 

Fixed plates -> bumpsteer spacers -> having the stock strut housing bent (can get another degree or so).

I run the K-Mac Stage 2s adjustable camber/caster plates (Part 192016 K2) - they're made is Australia.  Very happy with them.  Replaceable self-aligning Pillow ball w/urethane centers. They definitely give me more camber than I had running 2 different sets of fixed camber plates (not a ton more, but more) - they put the springs on the fender, much closer than with fixed plates.. Got mine from Turner Motorsports.

Thanks for the feedback. So just to confirm, these can be run with the stock diameter springs?

Yep - I’m running Eibach 5” lowering springs.

 

K-Mac make stage I (street), stage II (street/race), and stage III (full race). Stage II & III similar hardware, except full race is hard-mount (no urethane). I like the self-lubing (PTFE) spherical bearing design (replaceable)

 

I’m running mine at ~3 deg neg camber, ~6 deg pos caster... the small added caster adds a little free neg camber on turn in and some high speed stability.

 

There’s a few different camber-kits available (incl cheap fits-all eboy stuff) , but K-Mac’s been around forever and has a good rep.

Ill have a look at the Kmac plates. Ability to adjust castor appeals also.

Looks like the K-Mac route is the way to go. Anyone know if the stage 1 setup would give similar camber adjustability to the stage 2 setup? My 02 is just street driven, but if stage 2 is significantly more advantageous I'd consider spending the extra coin.
