Hey Don, are you ok in Slidell?

Wondering about Ray too. He's a little further in but still right there.

Hope all is well for everyone in the path of the storm.

From what I could see from the weather map, there is a bunch of rain headed right thru Arkansas in the next few days (8+ inches). I know the Mid West will be glad to take any rain it can get.

Who meeee? ;-)

No power, but no damage at my place as far as I know. I ran off last Saturday and not yet back.

The whole area is without power and I understand some roads are blocked with trees/debris. Basically a mess that will take some time to clean up.

Thanks,

Ray

Whats the deal?

I thought you were watching football in the rain.

Don is camping out again tonight.

It could be up to a week before Don gets power back.

Hopefully alot sooner, but there are 600,000 in LA without power.

Both my kids in Baton Rouge got their power back on today.

Skip and Tim for keeping everyone up to speed.

The water got scary close, it was 4 feet lower than the other storm.

Got power yesterday afternoon, now the main A/C unit is out, whatever, we have back-up.

8.5" in rain gauge, pretty sure it missed 4-5 horizontal inches.

Ray evacuated to China, come on isn't that a little extreme? We'll be ready on your return:)

Took my car to a friends house, it also survived.

Going to Orange Beach for a break tomorrow.

Tito's is cold again!!

Don

Edit: How has everyone faired in Arkansas, Missouri, etc...

Glad that you are OK, Don. I checked with my brother in E. Baton Rouge Parish. He'd not lost power, but his fence was blown down and he lost a few tree limbs. Heavy rains there, but nothing too dramatic for seasoned BR residents. We midwesterners hope to get some of the rain from the remnants of Isaac before long...

Typical news reports of the storm: they could not pronounce Plaquemines Parish. Also they reported the storm at a short distance from their luxury hotels in the French Quarter. When Katrina hit, the only one I can remember chasing the stories throughout the region was Anderson Cooper. He was everywhere; I respected that.
