  1. I'm currently going through the same project converting my 74 to early bumpers... here's a picture of my early US bumper that I added euro lamps to. I bought the lamps from blunt and just cut my own openings. Just thought I'd share incase you want to keep your rear bumper. the rear brackets can be bought from blunt, esc and any other bmw parts store. Part # 51125470060 https://www.ecstuning.com/ES76094/ As for losing the over riders, you just need to replace the bolts that hold the bumper pieces together with chrome M8 carriage bolts. Go to a bmw parts store and look at the exploded bumper diagrams, it will give you lengths for each bolt. You can order through them or find cheaper generic chrome M8 carriage bolts online. Some auto parts store may carry them aswell. http://www.jakesweeneybmwparts.com/a/BMW_1970_2002ManualSedan/_52022_5798338/Bumper-rear/51_3326.html - euro center section on ebay right now http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-E10-1600-2002-tii-European-Rear-Bumper-Center-Section-/361721546178?hash=item543848c5c2:g:D0YAAOSwknJXxN3r&vxp=mtr - early front brackets http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-1602-2002-Front-Bumper-Bracket-Set-51111815493-4-1968-72-Sedan-Tii-/152228918562?hash=item23718cf522:g:u3UAAOSwMgdXyzY4&vxp=mtr
  2. Free to a good home before I toss it in the scrap pile... It needs some work, it was welded into my 74 so the bolt tabs are ground away a bit. Also one rust hole in the bottom. Located in Los Gatos, Ca.
  3. TEP seems to be the one I see on most m42 swapped 02's. http://www.racetep.com/manufacturer/shock-braces/bmw-frt-brace/bmw-2002-front-ultimate-brace-torque-only.html
  4. Hi bluebeem, I sent you a Pm asking for pictures of the rear conversion brackets but I figured you might want to post them here for us all to see. Thanks!
  5. Jack, thanks for the advice. I'm used to driving with care when going over bumps and dips, so much so that it's become habit even in my big work truck... For anyone interest I have contacted the swedish company from the old thread I linked above, if I can get their "short sided" turbo bumper shipped to US for a decent price I'm going to give this idea a shot, I'm sure some modifications will be necessary but this is a look i've been wanting to achieve with my car for some time now. I'll ad to this discussion with my success or failure, I'm even considering reworking an ebay turbo bumper if I can't get my hands on the short version.
  6. Thanks Andrew, I was refering to a turbo air dam that is meant for use with no flairs. I know the kamei is similar but I'm hoping I can find what I'm after
  7. I came across an old thread about a turbo look air dam that is made for use without turbo flairs. If anyone knows of a vender that carries this I think it could work with an early bumper.
  8. That makes sense now that I look at the corners. Thanks again Andrew!
  9. Thanks for the clarification Andrew, I have seen the kamei bumper in conjunction with an early chrome bumper. At first glance I thought the turbo and kamei bumpers had the same shape up around the bumper area, I assume it's the placement on the body that is an issue with the turbo air dam ( not lining up with the early bumper mounts)?
  10. * UPDATE 10/7, I have 3 airdams on order from sweden. Atleast one, maybe two will be for sale. Hi all, I was wondering if anyone can confirm weither or not a turbo style front air dam can be fitted with an early chrome bumper? I know the IE and other aftermarket air dams work but I have not been able to find any information or pictures of a turbo style valance with a bumper. My concern is that the turbo looks to stick out more than the other air dam styles right at the bumper mounting height. If i've missed this information in another post please feel free to link it here. Thanks! -Neil

  18. Engine is Sale Pending, 4 speed still available.
  19. Tarek, if I don't get much interest in the whole package i'll let you know. Thanks
  20. M10 and 4 speed are Sale Pending Long story short, I recently picked up a 74 2002 that had been sitting for the last 5+ years. The previous owner past away and the son sold me the car, providing the limited detail he had on the engine. It was believed that the car was parked when the water pump went out. After getting the car home I replaced all fluids, soaked the pistons in Marvel miracle and fired her up! She ran great and smooth with just a leaky fuel pump and water pump. After replacing the water pump, thermostat, fuel pump, and filter I was able the run the car long enough to find that i'm getting alot of steam (white smoke) once the engine is hot. I'm assuming coolant is getting into the combustion chambers from either a head gasket, cracked head or valve guides. This is where I'm drawing the line with putting work into the M10, I have a M42 donor to install but was hoping I could cruise the M10 for a bit until I am ready to do the swap. I'm selling the M10 and 4 speed complete from weber to alternator, clutch, radiator and whatever else you want that won't be used with the m42, also has an a/c compressor but I don't know it's condition. I'm open to offers at this point, I don't have a good grasp on M10/4speed value so feel free to chime in with suggestions. Engine is currently in the car and can be briefly test driven I will try to do a compression test amd what ever else I can to further diagnose the problem thanks
