  1. Just an FYI, you can ship it on a greyhound bus. They just put in on with the luggage. Cheapest way to ship large heavy items. It just has to be dropped off and picked up at a greyhound station.
  2. This is a 75 but looks pretty good. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/cto/5648824511.html
  3. Thanks Chasmrider, looks like a good canditate... pm sent
  4. Bump, I'm still on the hunt for a roller/complete non running car. Looking to spend up to $3500 depending on condition
  5. I'm glad a member was able to get it before any flippers. I would have loved to fix this tii up to be my new daily driver had it been closer... Ohh well the hunt continues.
  6. Not mine, great price for someone with ambition! https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/5643351074.html
  7. I talked to Craig about the car aswell when his ad first went up... He sure does love to talk but he did sound like he knew what he was talking about... That said I did make him an offer via PM and during our phone conversation he would not name a price for the car but did hint that he expects an offer around $20k for a car of this quality.
  8. Update: now looking at roundies and square tails. Thanks!
  9. Also, I'm interested in cars outside of the bay area.
  10. Found! Thanks to all those who participated. I'm now the happy owner of a 1974 sahara 2002! I'm still on the hunt for a project 02... i've opened up my search to all 1600/2002's, roundies and squaretails up to 1975. I'll be doing an e30 m42/5 speed swap. Preferably a straight body with mimimal structural rust, rough paint and rough interior is ok. Running or not, with our without drivetrain. Needs to have a title or a title replacement form filled out with purchase. I'm in the SF Bay Area
  11. Not mine... Has some rust but could be a good project for someone. "Make offer" http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/5586572822.html
  12. Is there some minor collision damage to the frontend? Hard to tell in pictures but it look like some of the frontend doesn't line up very well. Also how long has the engine been sitting?
  13. This is pretty interesting, would love to see what's all there. Nine cars for sale, must take all. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/5575814429.html
  14. The sellers craigslist ad said it was a 1975, guess I'll check the vin
  15. Hey Mark, can you elaborate on why this car would be hard to register in CA? From my experience bringing an out of state car to CA the only thing dmv did was verify the vin. This being a 75 wouldn't need to be smogged, would they still look for original smog equipment? The reason I ask is I'm looking for a 74-75 and have been looking at out of state cars. Thanks for an insight
  16. It's on ebay with no reserve. Looks like a dealer bought it
  17. I'm not sure if this is really a TI but i'm sure some of you gurus can verify it... http://m.ebay.com/itm/322087160380
  18. Passing this along, looks like a good deal. Hopefully one of you can grab it before a flipper. https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/5556703943.html
  19. All 3 cars I made offers on and missed out on in the last 2 weeks I contacted the sellers within a few hours of them being posted on craigslist, long before Mark posted them... It's not Marks fault these cars are very popular and sell fast, especially when they're priced well. ...by the way, I'm looking for a 74-75 2002 that needs work. Just throwing that out there for anyone who might want to let a project go
  20. It was listed at $6200 with the bbs rs's. He sold them and dropped the price to $5500, we made a deal at $4000 and now he's back up to $6500????
  21. Hey Jake, I'm a noobie here too and currently looking to score a deal on my first 2002... While I do feel your frustration for finding the right car (i've been second caller an 3 cars in 2 weeks that just slipped through my fingers), I've been scouring all the west coast craigslist ads and I typically find new listings before Mark even posts them, that being said I can't always find every ad out there and I am always very happy to see Mark post a car I may have missed... I think he's doing us all a favor by spending his free time showing us what's out there... If anything it pushes me to search harder to find it first, I hope everyone of us 2002 enthusiasts can find the deal they are looking for... Just my two cents on the subject
  22. Just passing this along, wish I could buy it myself but it's out of my price range. https://sandiego.craigslist.org/nsd/cto/5552271021.html
  23. I attempted to buy this car a few weeks ago. The selling gave me this story about how the car was his uncles for years, then his dads, then he and his sister each drove it through high school... When I went to buy the car, they had no title, just a application for a replacement title front the dmv (which wasn't even in his name, supposedly his uncle). We went to AAA and looked up records, the car had been sold half a dozen times in recent years and the title wasn't transfered properly a few sellers back. At this point I walked away while the seller harassed me and continued to try to explain that the paperwork was all good and the AAA dmv employee didn't know what she was talking about... Very shady people in my opinion and to top it off the car isn't nearly as nice in person as described.
