  1. I get what you're saying. I think the question is if BMW produced in 2018 the exact identical Golf Yellow 1973 BMW 2002 but the production date said 2018 vs. 1973 would the die hard enthusiast be reluctant to buy it simply because it was built in 2018? or be inclined to pay less for it? It would be a cool social experiment.
  2. Probably a lot but I don't see how it's related to what we're talking about. Restoring is different than reproducing for the mass market.
  3. Riley, I don't feel your analogy and hence your logic applies here. We're talking about exact identical steering wheels here. If BMW or Porsche were daft enough to reproduce the same exact 60s or 70s cars today they'd cost much more than the original cars due to increased cost of production, inflation, etc. So I'm equally perplexed as Etsy as to why a wheel that happens to have a date stamped to the back of it (out of sight too) would demand more money than an identical wheel sans the date stamp.
  4. Hola, My recently acquired 1970 1600 came with a flag mirror and I"m trying to figure out if this was original or something that was swapped by the PO in lieu of a trap mirror. THanks, Eamon
  5. As the title says. I prefer a solid hub but let me know what you gots. Thanks eamon
  6. smog exempt? I thought the cut off year was 73...
  7. Spending too much time in the gym I see
  8. I have found a shop in SF who offers a rebuild kit for our heater boxes: https://prdesignsf.com/ They also have the now NLA box grommets included as part of the kit.
  9. You have photos/receipts for the parts replaced and work that was done? Who did all this work?
  10. Did this spin a bearing? Also, this is not a rebuilt motor, at least not based on the owner's ad. All they have done is replace the bearings and a 3 angle valve job on the head. If it spun a bearing then I'd be worried about the crankshaft journal damage. Why weren't the pistons replaced? What was done to the block if any? Were chain guides replaced? Need more history about the engine and what happened to it. When the oil light comes on on these engines, it's already too late.
  11. John, I’d be happy to install them for you on my car and share some photos
  12. Thanks Jim! These grommets are sadly NLA from the dealer and I’m having a hard time locating them elsewhere. I have the early style core and valve as well and will require the early grommets but as long as I can get some, early or late, I’d make them work.
  13. I'm looking for the two grommets that seal the the inlet and outlet pipes of the heater core as it exits the heater box. I'm in the midst of a heater box rebuild and those grommets need replacement. I believe the part number is as follows: 64111353352
  14. For those interested, I ended up purchasing this brand new from the dealer for 90 bucks.
  15. Can this be broken into even number of pieces before delivery? I don't do well with odd numbers...
  16. Look at you trying to spin the situation positively by being pedantic! No sir, best offer mean listed value or LESS. If you want bids, list this crap on eBay and spare us your innocent but asinine excuse.
  17. Class! Thanks for sharing this extremely relevant and important bit of information post sale to random buyer.
  18. Now that looks like a clock that is right at least twice in a day!
  19. In the category of need but can't afford.
  20. Damn a killer deal on those grilles. I'll be the number 57 in line.
  21. Nice work. You forgot to factor in dog food as part of the cost.
