  1. With the engine (fuel pump) running, check fuel delivery by cracking open the line nut above the pressure valve on the pump head for all four injectors (one at a time); the amount of fuel delivery should be equal. If you don't have fuel or dribbling fuel, swap out the pressure valve with a known good one for the cylinder in question. The injectors are also known to get debris/rust in them and cause problems with incorrect spray patterns or sticking that will create a rich mixture as well (injector repair parts are NLA). Never remove the suction valve disc with a magnet, there is a special tweezer tool to use for that procedure. Damage to the pump will occur if you do not use the tool. Email me on my tab if you have any questions in the Kugelfischer world.
  2. I have one, contact me off my email tab and I will give you details.
  3. I have a driver's door in great shape (from an Oakland car) but it would have to be shipped. Let me know if you're interested and I can send pics. Email me off my tab, thanks.
  4. There's one in the parts category of Ebay currently.
  5. Blaupunkt radio, email off my tab please. Thanks
  6. Paul Did I say anything about rocker pads...no; bushings in the rockers that ride on the shafts. How about the camshaft? Is it as old as someone's grandma? Did you mic it when it was out of the head? Just a few more things to throw out there. Don't forget to put gloves on when you take it apart!
  7. We know that you're eccentric...so the question is how are your eccentrics? Contrare to belief, they do wear. As far as the seats, they are as hard as your head, so I doubt if there is a problem there. Check the rocker bushings while you're at it.
  8. Paul That is why BMW recommends regular flushing of the brake fluid because it is hydroscopic. Have you washed your hands yet? Previous pics indicate that you haven't. Remember what I mentioned about the oil and grease made in China!
  9. I agree with some of the comments with fellow forumer's. If you are able to remove either exterior door handles there will be a "W" stamped on it and a number that follows. The trunk lock cylinder also has a key # listed on it as well. You can take these #'s to any BMW dealer along with a current registration certificate. Ask for the parts manager who will contact his primary warehouse coordinator who has the key cutter and will cut by code using the OEM key blanks. I've have had this done for three out of my four current 2002's.
  10. The trapezoid glass is available at any BMW dealer - p/n 51 161 807 747 The flag mirror glass is NLA.
  11. I would use the Omni in all the areas that don't get sun to save some money (it is a great color match) and use the PPG two stage on the areas that people see. PPG will look and hold up better, as mentioned previously; the Omni is the cheaper of the two.
  12. The rear seat (upper and lower) takes 2 yards of perforated and 3 yards of smooth material total, I'm not sure on the fronts.
  13. You could be at 7000 ft elevation like me where it doesn't matter at all. There's more fuel than air....
  14. Hopefully it will drive up the value of these cars!
  15. I have a nice rear seat, (tobacco color) upper and lower (material only) along with matching 4 door cards and armrests for a '73 to make it period correct. Email me off my tab and let's talk.
  16. PPG also has the best color matches for Malaga code 021 and Fijord code 037.
  17. This is an old topic revisited on radiators. A good radiator shop experienced in brass radiators can order a "HE" high efficiency core, which is a two row (like the original) but with 24 tubes (top to bottom) in it. The original has 16 tubes. The "HE" looks like the original but a little heavier and does a great job keeping things cooler.
  18. Jaymic.com you'll be surprised how much stuff they have...beware Maximillian!
  19. I used to work transportation logistics in my last job. A bill of lading is created and any damage is documented prior to shipping the vehicle (including glass). A copy of the bill of lading is handed to you on the receiving end to review; if the glass damage wasn't previously noted, you are to note it when the vehicle arrives and then contact the shipper or the shipper's insurance company to place a claim against damage.
  20. I'm glad you used my recommendation, I've tried a bunch over the years and they were the best. Were you able to have Maria help you? Best of luck with your new ride!
  21. Paul Ronald advertised one on the forum about a week ago out of a 75 CA car, contact him at: rodascalif@live.com
