  1. GM Synchromesh transmission fluid...part # 12345349 works wonders and will even straighten out grinding on downshift into second gear, the longer you use it...the better the shifting gets. I've been using it since the 80's on the 4 speed trannys....another professional opinion. Soon to be celebrating working on these cars for 40 years.
  2. That stock steering wheel was from 1974-1976, for those of you that are trying to restore back to the original look.
  3. Golden Key Express out of Clovis, CA is excellent...but pricey 559.299.7288 Total Car Shipping out of Hollywood, FL is another good choice 800.513.1275 ask for Maria (she has a lot of experience in this field). I've used both for cross country transportation. Be leary of low ball quotes, they take your money and wait for the lowest bidder for the job, which could take weeks until you see the vehicle. Remember...you get what you pay for; and you pay for what you get!
  4. How does your door fit on both sides? Equal gaps fore and aft? Check for exessive play in the hinges by trying to lift the door from the bottom edge when it is partially open. Jamb latch adjusted correctly?
  5. Vince is correct, the Tii's never had a snorkel on the front panel from the factory. The replacement panels even "back in the day" never offered a "non snorkel Tii" you had to get a snorkel as a replacement. You can always cut the metal from the left side on a parts car or scrap front panel then cut and weld it on the snorkel side to make it look original.
  6. Paul- You have to start wearing gloves...who knows what china puts in the grease and lubricants today. I could be toxic to your health!
  7. Behr a/c units were available in the roundie's as well...but the pricing was very high, so dealers looked for an alternative to keep the sale. That's why you see Frigiking, Clardy and other aftermarket knock offs. I have a 1973 2002 since 1973 with the dealer installed Behr unit. The 1600 may be sluggish when the compressor is on since it does rob a good percentage of HP. I would use a rotary compressor "Sanden" in conjunction with the Behr unit. There is a forum member who had a few of the rotary brackets made and was looking to sell them in the "parts for sale" category.
  8. Email me off my tab, or you could wait for Maximillian who may or may not offer one in the future "competitively priced" and enjoys free advertising on the forum. Another "free advertsing" pitch, read below.
  9. I think corporations should not be interrupting the conversation between forum members. There is a time and place for their advertising.
  10. Mine is priced "very competitively" as well.
  11. I believe you're next in line after me...Steve J.
  12. Rubber trim over rear bumper brackets, hit my email button on my profile.
  13. I have a perfect rear seat, top and bottom with original heat seams that are still mounted on the frames. I would be willing to separate off the frames if the price is right. Send me an email and we'll discuss $.
  14. Good clean straight door with perfect lower body line and one small spot of surface rust (none inside), $100. Original California car, have you priced a new one? Will box and ship for actual cost only, give me your zip code so I can calculate. Email if interested off my button...serious inquires only, still available as of 3/26/12.
  15. Todd Click on my email button and I will show you what I did to repair. Also, if you have pics of your panels send them to me as well.
  16. I have a complete set (front/rear) with armrests. I'll send you an email.
  17. If your interested in my wheel since I was first on the reply; you can give a donation to my bank account. Thanks
  18. I've got a bottle cap 14" that looks good, but it does have a small bend when you run it. Email me off my profile and will see if this works for you.
  19. Email me off my profile, I have one that I'd be willing to pack and ship. I live in the southwest, let's talk.
  20. The color looks like Baikal Blue, code 042 which was darker than Fijord and was rare. Good luck with the sale.
  21. See if you can buy a single stage paint in your area (solvent based) either Dupont Centari or PPG is a good match. You don't need a two stage with clear since the area under the hood doesn't get weather or UV. It will look good and cost you less $. I've been painting 2002's since 1974.
  22. Ask Esty on the forum, I've seen nylon loop but wool is a good question.
