  3. Aaah, owner didn't mention all the shock tower issues to me. Saved me a 3-hour drive haha. It was a good price though for sure!
  4. 403,000 miles!?!? Truly amazing and inspiring to think that our little cars could actually do that Have you ever rebuilt the engine, clutch, etc?
  5. are you still selling that 76? i checked your CL ad but its expired. price and details? i am looking for a second one.
  6. did you buy that in Atlantic City recently?? if it's the same car, i saw that on Craigslist and wanted to snap it up as a second project, but i was too late!
  7. I wear a shirt and tie every day at work (always long sleeves because I'm heavily tattooed) but on hot days if i have my 2002 with me I drive to the office in shorts and have my dress clothes on a hanger in the back and just change at work. Just a thought
  8. Haha best thread of the day Craigslist Rants & Raves section would be proud
  9. if you work at B & O you should have heard.of the company im at. Atlona? we make HdMI matrices for B & O really? small world! yeah, our store in NJ doesnt have the Atlona installed because of the size of the store, but the shops in NYC do for sure. that's awesome! =)
  10. you might be able to source a patch panel from www.bmwofsouthatlanta.com they have a lot of the old vintage patch panels and i was able to get quite a few of them on that site. they also carry a lot of OEM parts for the 2002 still
  11. HAH! yeah, i am not going to mess with the AC at all... i just figured out that it works for the first time last night, and knowing these cars i have learned that any moving around of anything may break it. best to leave it alone and consider myself lucky that its actually working. i think i am just going to rip off the existing grill by hand and see what happens. the one i have is so beat and dented that it's basically trash anyway. i AM worried about trying to get the new one tightened up once it's on though. i guess this explains why most of the used kidneys i see for sale all have paint overspray on them- the owners of the cars can't figure out how to get the grill off without damage, so they just mask it off when re-spraying the car? =)
  12. thanks bud!! ill try that. i was able to reach in a feel the bolts, and they are both properly rusted, so ill try the wrench but if that fails i guess i will just rip it off manually and get the bolts afterwards. hopefully it's easier to put the new one on than it is to take off the old and PS, i hear you about the AC, but the lovely surprise i just discovered is that my AC actually works and is intact! haha
  13. hey guys so i got a new kidney to replace mine, since mine was so beat up. i removed the 4 screws for each black side grill and got those off no problem, but now i realize that the kidney seems to be screwed in from behind. to further compound the problem, my behr AC fan is there, and there is absolutely no room to get in there with a wrench and get the bolt unscrewed. in addition to that the bolt is super rusty. help!! the search didnt show much
  14. dont know if this helps, but i just ordered two from Bavarian Autosport the other day. they sell the raised metal ones for the hood, which i got. but the trunk one is the flat-style one. i have my OG badges on my car right now, but the paint was so bad i painted them flat brown primer hahahaha
  15. caught rolling up the sunroof a few months ago... i take a lot of non-2002 pics mostly, so some of these are def off-topic. sorry... more 2002:

  22. hey guys i have decided to do a stereo delete in my car, and i am no longer in need of the speaker grills that mount to the rear parcel shelf (i am building a non-cut panel right now. these are both in great shape, a little dirty, but would clean up nice. i have 4 screws (the other 4 are missing from the PO and they were mounted with 2 on each. one of the plastic lower side rings has a crack, but this isnt noticeable when they are mounted. price- how about 15 dollars paypalled, including shipping. hit me up at scottsainthilaire at gmail dot com or reply back on this thread
