  2. as the title states, my carb is leaking slightly. would it be more cost effective to just buy a new one or buy some kind or rebuild kit and pay to have it rebuilt?
  3. Thanks everyone! Does anyone have the later manual available for 74-76?
  4. i too need this (for a 76)- the one that came with my car was water-logged and the pages were all stuck together unfortunately anyone?
  5. Hey guys Running a single weber. Most of the time the car runs perfect, but every once in a while when I come to a light the idle is stuck around 2000rpm. Sometimes a quick blip of the throttle will cause it to settle back down to around 900-1000 like normal. But sometimes it stays up at 2000 no matter what. The only thing I have tried so far is lubing up the throttle linkage from the pedal upwards, but no change. Any thoughts? Is there a DIY on weber carb adjustments or maybe some sort of idle control? Forgive the noob-ness please. I've had my car for 1/2 a year but so far it has been running 100% so I haven't had to post up any tech help requests until now. Any advice or links would be appreciated. Thanks!!
  6. Bumping this back up because yesterday I saw a great safari beige tii in the same place, corner of Springfield and summit ave. If it was someone on here, I was the weirdo in front of Bang & Olufsen with the huge grin and giving the big thumbs up
  7. Ive had this happen too, but after some study I think it has something to do with the fact that the 2002 in general is a loud car. I mean, everytime I stop at a light and row through the gears to get up to 55 or whatever it always sounds like a race car even when it's barely moving hahahaa. I think what happens is that the ricers sitting next to you in traffic hear the loud engine when you start moving and think "oh man that guy is trying to race me!", so they gun it with their fart can mufflers and try to prove how fast they are....
  8. wow, this thread again! i never thought so many of you would also have the same "vent tube dilemna" as i did =) i now have the plugs thanks to a fellow FAQ member, but i think i enjoyed my houndstooth duct tape solution a little better

  17. Pretty sure if they are oldschool audi they may end up being 4x108, are you sure they are 4x100? Might not fit
  18. That's awesome! I guess 2002s are "in fashion" again eh? Nice
  19. Other than a VW split-window bus, the Isetta is the only other one of my "dream vintage cars". When I lived in Austin tx about 10 years back there was a vintage BMW specialist there that I took my old 318is to a few times. In addition to some 1600s and 2002s they had a few isetta projects laying around and they were the only ones I have ever physically seen in my life. What a car, so ahead of its time. Insane gas mileage, a true basic commuter for getting around ala Smart cars today. That thing would go over super well in my opinion if they ever brought it back. Yes it's unsafe but so are most cars from that era. If I could find one even slightly within budget I would bsolutely get one and drive the hell out of it. amazing in every way. Whoops sorry for the rant

  22. I'm definitely down to do this. I'm in north NJ. A few of us were talking about a jersey shore meetup but going north works for me too. My car is in the shop getting some welding done butill have it back in a week or two. Late may or a June Sunday would be ideal Keep me posted
