  1. Yes, had everything vapor honed at a local shop that does vintage motorcycles. Turned out great!
  2. Putting the final touches on the newly rebuilt original engine. Reattached the front bumper. Sprucing up engine bay to get it all ready. Really need to address the ride height up front!!
  3. Who is your trusted machine shop? I just had Will's in Chamblee do my Tii engine. They are the go to shop by everyone I know in the area.
  4. Totally, it’s not just with 2002s. It’s with any classic BMW. They just don’t care about quality control. I’m finishing up my restoration and I can’t count the number of issues I’ve had with parts not fitting that needed work. At every step there was zero concern by BMW and most of the time it was fight to get them to accept a return. Having classic Porsche’s I must say they are way better with these issues.
  5. I've got one, PM your address and I'll send it out.
  6. Hmm, when I bought my car it came with 1 Blue Service manual And , 2 - White binders that show the parts. Were they all blue binders originally?
  7. Thanks David, they will be in the mail this week. Only 2 more sets available.
  8. There had been reports of some of the new ones breaking, I had a friend blow up his M30 engine due to it. Perhaps this is the cause?
  9. There were also a large number of Tii's produced with snorkles BTW.
  10. I’m reassembling my ‘72 Tii engine. The #2 inlet manifold has a flat spot on it and it looks like something should be screwed into it. What is this?
  11. Garage Journal .com is a great forum group to discuss all things Garage.
  12. In light of a new part costing $220, I will try the other fixes first! Not a horrible part to get to should it not work.
  13. I have this part on my Tii with some pretty good corrosion. During my engine rebuild I vapor honed a number of parts which really revealed some good pitting where 2 water hoses attach. Should I fill the pits or will crimping the hoses down prevent any leaking.
  14. Wanted to say that Ronnie did a fine job with my injectors. I am rebuilding my Tii engine, the other engine was running fine but I went ahead and sent my injectors in for testing to see if they needed work. He came back to me with a report showing that that they were putting our pressures of between 490 - 540 psi. So no work needed. Definitely someone you can trust!
  15. Just found this - Virgina Beach blizzard of 1980.
  16. 1 set sold, more available.
  17. Complete set of New 2002 Tii Fuel injector lines. These include all clips - even the NLA 3 pipe clip. These were manufactured in Germany by the last proven place making these. Well known to many on this site. Price $320 shipped CONUS Part #s 13531262119 13531262121 13531262123 13531262125
  18. Lift is an extra tall Atlas. I’m 6’5” and wanted something I could lift all the way and walk under without hitting my head. I built ceiling at 12’ so I can have my 356 on it all the up and still walk around under.
  19. Started on the engine bay. Installing new firewall insulation after the clean up.
  20. I had to use some 3M trim tape to get mine to stay put.
  21. IMO, making a mod on a ‘72 Tii like removing the side markers, rear reflectors and installing Euro turn signals - make the car look like what it did in Europe at the time. Deleting the side trim and rubber from the bumpers makes it look like you are backdating the car. Just my opinion. However this one that sold on BAT today for $81K did very well. I think that with the level of restoration that was done on it, had it been kept more original it would have hit 6 figures. 1972 BMW 2002tii 5-Speed BRINGATRAILER.COM Bid for the chance to own a 1972 BMW 2002tii 5-Speed at auction with Bring a Trailer, the home of the best vintage and classic cars online. Lot #63,570.
  22. Wow, that looks really nice! Most of the original ones you will find now will have broken tabs and/or be very misshapen. Not sure you really need sound deadening on those. I’ve never noticed any difference with mine when installed or not being installed.
