  1. At Legends of the Autobahn. First time being judged. Still raining!
  2. Had my longest drive to date, 320 miles on my way to Legends of the Autobahn on Hilton Head. Found out I get 25 mpg. Took the backroads past cotton fields being harvested, lots of cool little towns and saw my first wild hog road kill, huge dude that must have done some real damage to car that hit it! It turns out it’s going to be raining a lot tomorrow so they have moved our show to Sunday morning. I’m looking forward to my first judged event, just looking to have fun and meeting a bunch of new folks!
  3. The forecast is very much up in air. 90% chance of rain and very windy. Will the cars able to go out on a golf course if that's the case? At least my driving days will be dry!
  4. Local newspaper photos https://www.gwinnettdailypost.com/entertainment/photos-scenes-from-the-deutsche-klassic-german-car-show/collection_76d574b2-3b2c-11ec-a4e5-cb764c153377.html?fbclid=IwAR3mQ1uK-Cn8fm0RbRwY02_sR8Kzj0Ey9yFXhtFm9z6xPgM3a-LsH8BeHZY#1
  5. Ha, I may not need to worry about washing my car after the Long drive to Hilton Head!!
  6. Thanks, just looking to having fun with great friends like Don and Gary and hoping to meet new folks! I have been able to source a nice set of proper Tii steel wheels that now adorn the car, I should change profile pic!
  7. My '72 2002Tii has been accepted at the Hilton Head Concours - Legends of the Autobahn East this upcoming weekend. I've never attended one of these events nor shown a car at more than a local Cars and Coffee show or been judged. I have no idea on what to expect. I refreshed my car on my own and did my best best to make it "Right". I'm sure all the pros will kick my butt however I would like to put my best foot forward. I would love to get some thoughts/suggestions on what's going to happen and how to prepare.
  8. Looks like a wet drive over on Friday!
  9. Excellent, looking forward to meeting you. My '72 Tii will be in LOTA East. I'm following Gary Beck for the drive over.

  11. We had our 1st annual German car show in Norcross, GA. Forecast called for rain and we got a bit of that. Nevertheless, over 140 cars showed up from all marques! I was soo busy with the show I didn't have time to properly take pics of the 2002s. Attached are what @HarryPR posted on FB. Thanks Harry. Anyone else have some you can share?
  12. Show is on the restaurant side of tracks. Please find me and say hi if you come. I'll be the tallest guy
  13. The show will go on rain or shine. The forecast is showing potential very light rain. With all the moving pieces, it wasn't possible to change the date. Hope you can make it.
  14. HA - Tough choice I'm sure!! Is that a day game or night?
  15. It will be great to have you and finally meet in person! You don't need to but you can register on line for a free spectator ticket. We will be doing drawings for those who did. We are up to 10 - 2002s and 150 cars!
  16. We are having an all German Vintage car show in Norcross, Georgia on Oct 30. Pre-registration for this first year show has been fantastic - BMW, Porsche, Mercedes, VW, Audi, Opel. So far 50 BMWs but only 6 - 2002s are registered. I would love to see more of the car that started it all! Please come join us! BTW, the t- shirts we have come up with are great! https://www.deutsche-klassic.com/ https://deutsche-klassic.myshopify.com/collections/all
  17. Most sites selling these have them listed as ‘68 - ‘76. However BMW didn’t start using this design until ‘73. In ‘73 they added the extra long plastic part that covers the painted sill area. They will fit earlier cars but not be “correct” for those who want an original look.
  18. New unused pair of door entry sill strips. $210 shipped CONUS
  19. For anyone in the south, this is sure to be a great show! Vintage German cars only. Finally a show where I'm not stuck between a GTO and a Mustang! Register early, entries are limited to 150 total Klassics. https://www.deutsche-klassic.com/
  20. Have you considered going the seat rental route for race series like ChampCar, WRL or AER? By far the cheapest way to track and tons of seat time! During a weekend you can easily get 3+ hours behind the wheel. When we have extra stints, we have rented time to friends. Living in Atlanta is amazing with regards to tracks close by, Road Atlanta, AMP, Barber, NCM, Charlotte, VIR, Daytona and Sebring are all within an easy drive.
  21. OK, I get to Savannah at times, Chatham Steel is a customer. Where is this pizza?
  22. you can send your box to this guy or just buy the required parts or kit which is what I did. Here is the guy……….https://prdesignsf.com/shop?olsPage=products
