  3. Scott, do you still need those visors? or was it grab handles? i can't remember... but if you do, let me know and i'll bring them. See you tomorrow! -Josh
  4. I'm going to try to go! Finally the smoke that clouds my life is clearing up... i think...
  5. I posted this a while back regarding spring heights. I hope it is helpful. http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,0/page,viewtopic/t,354682/view,previous/sid,64622a2c0a4053dca6cb8a39cb4aa1dc/
  6. The 2002AD guys had a hand in this one. I like the tailgate solution.
  7. I think the guys at 2002 AD did one of the best truck conversions:
  8. I would happily take that car to the beach for a surf session, or ride in it if it belonged to a friend. If i had a 10-20 car garage and had an empty slot, i wouldn't mind owning it (but i would quickly swap out the yellow headlights for some Cibie's).
  9. i would definitely get some new wheel bearings. You might want to upgrade to Stainless Steel brake lines while everything is apart. There is a FAQ on upgrading to vented rotors... not a necessary upgrade and it may conflict with certain size rims. I recently did the upgrade with Girling calipers and my car stops like it should! You might want to add a larger than stock swaybar while you are under there. You will feel an improvement if you replace all the bushings. How are you front shocks and springs? Might be a good time to upgrade those as well to some Bilsteins HD and a set of lowering springs. Hope this helps. -Josh
  10. Sure. Email me through the FAQ. we can arrange payment and i'll get the visors shipped this week.
  11. Lower price. now $40 and come get it. Check out the link: http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,57/page,viewtopic/t,372616/highlight,/ See the photo. I'm asking $80 for all of it or make me an offer. Depending on the interest in this stuff, i may be flexible on the price. Located in Culver City area of Los Angeles. NO SHIPPING. Sorry. this stuff is way too heavy. Here is the general list: 4 calipers. - As you can see i the photo, the brake pads still have LOTS of wear left to them. One set is only a few years old and my car spent about 9 months of that time in a body shop. 2 front rotors and hubs. - not warped or scored. Good shape. 4 rear hubs. I know 2 of them have BMW shoes. not sure about the other 2. 2 rear backing plates. all 6 rubber lines. decent shape. Just came off a running car. I'd have no problems installing these on a car. Come take it ALL. $80 Or Make Offer. Almost enough parts for 2 cars!
  12. Free front passenger side strut housing attached to a wheel hub, tie rods. Check out the link. Free to a good home. I also have a FREE stock front sway bar. Pick up only. Located in Culver City area of Los Angeles, just off the 405. Come and get it. everything appears to be straight and OK. Did i mention... FREE? http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,57/page,viewtopic/t,372619/highlight,/
  13. All 4 hubcaps. See the photo. they certainly are not perfect. But they looked fine on my 13" wheels when it was a daily driver. $50 for the set. OBO Visors. clean. $20 for the set.OBO Rear Grab Handles. Great shape. $20 for the set. Motor Mounts - As far as i can tell, these motor mounts are not rotted and in great shape. Rubber looks real good. Just cleaning out the garage from a car i parted out a year ago. asking $30 for both mounts. OBO. Bracket is not extra but if you don't need it, let me know. Window and mounting pieces. green tint. Came from a square tail car. i think it was a 74. Fits other years though. I'd rather not ship it. If you need it shipped, you might have to wait until i can find a box appropriate for this. As well as find enough insulation. Asking $50 for the window. Shipping is extra. Items located in Culver City, CA. Will consider a trade for a VGC passenger front Euro turn signal.
  14. Hey Ray, hope all is well. I got some so-so hubcaps. Sold the steelies a year ago though. http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,57/page,viewtopic/t,372642/highlight,/
  15. If it helps to justify the word 'BIG', we also put on 320 rear drums at the same time. Those are bigger too. It certainly helped my braking!
  16. I was happy to see an 02 put to good use (surf machine). I was the guy on the BMW motorcycle who gave you a thumbs up.
  17. I've had a Girling / 320 Big brake kit sitting in my garage for about a year or two and finally got around to installing them... thanks to the help of FAQ member ///Chris and his amazing garage. We got about 90% through the install and I decided to test fit one of my wheels. Our 90% quickly turned into 70%. It seems that the caliper sticks out a bit too far past the hub (where the studs go)... or the spokes of the Panasports don't really have good clearance. My Panasports are 15x6 with an offset of 25. Here is my ride about to get new hubs put on: Here is where the spoke hits the caliper: The rotor does not sit centered in the slot of the caliper. It actually is slightly cheated towards the outside of the car. My thought was to put a shim between the caliper and the strut when you bolt on the caliper. The shim will pull the caliper inwards towards the car more. Since it is all hydraulics, the caliper probably doesn't have to be perfectly centered over the rotor. When you press the brake, they will squeeze evenly against the rotor. And when you release the brake, they will expand accordingly. Luckily, Chris has some extra sheet metal and the necessary tools lying around. Here is the shim that matches the mounting bolt holes on the caliper: Here is everything assembled. I ended up having to add the thinnest spacer i could find. I needed just a wee bit more clearance to have a safe amount of space between the spokes and the caliper. The whole job took 3 times as long as we had hoped for... but i have about 4 tanks of gas through the car since the install and zero problems... and the car stops amazingly. My old brakes were terrible and I feel 1000% safer now when i stomp on the brakes. If anybody is running 15" Panasports with hopes to do a Girling conversion, i hope this post is useful to you. -josh
  18. I posted these a while back... http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,57/page,viewtopic/t,372646/highlight,/
  19. Hey Guys, I haven't been on the forum lately. Been busy with work. I finally found a lazy sunday morning to go through the FAQ. I'll gladly help if i can (if i have the time) but i'm no expert. I like the guys at Summit. I'm surprised they wouldn't do the work. Here is another recommend: Euro Spec Motors on Pico at Hauser I haven't used them but the owner has a 2002 and will work on them. Cheers! -josh

  22. Jerry, I may have one and if not....i just threw one in a package for a guy who bought some other switches. He may not want it (he wasn't interested but was like 'what the hell, go ahead'), e-mail me and i'll put you in touch... -Josh
  23. Ouch. My Malaga 02 had a collision from the rear, then one year later the entire driver's side. A patient and knowledgeable body shop brought it back to life both times. Good luck with the repair. Glad it isn't totaled and you are keeping another 02 on the road. There was a rip off used car lot in costa mesa that was parting out 2002s houseofluxuries.com They had shells and hoods that might work for you.Beware, the guys are used car snakes. also: http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/pts/2988977831.html http://losangeles.craigslist.org/ant/pts/3015012851.html
