  1. Gruppe, Looking for a chrome base mount for the later model driver's side wing mirror (not the black plastic). I don't need the mounting HW, but the actual chrome part that the mirror bolts into via the large screw. Current one I picked up has a badly stripped set screw in it, and I have a feeling I'm going to tear this up trying to remove the screw, so it's probably smart to have a spare. Anyone got anything? -Charlie
  2. If I lived in a warm & dry climate (socal, arizona, texas, etc), I'd do it in a heartbeat, easy cars to work on, great fun to drive, tons of attention. That being said, There's salt on the roads here in Ohio from November to April, so no, it's not a DD. -Charlie
  3. Gruppe, Ran this through the search a few times, couldn't find anything relating to these. As the 165/80/13 Michelin MX4s on this car appear to be about 9 years old with sidewall cracks and a pretty hardened tread surface, it's safe to say they're pretty well done. This leads me to head out on the safari of the vast choices of proper 13 inch rubber available for these cars. *Cough* Anyways, I'm looking to stay with the OEM steelies or multispoke e21 rims ('76 california car, fwiw), so 165/80/13 or 185/70/13 is my main choice. I was poking around on Tirerack & discount tire, and I found a choice that I hadn't seen mentioned before, the Kumho Power Star 758: http://www.kumhousa.com/tires/passenger/broadline-a-s/758.do It's available in 155/80R13, 165/80R13 83T, 175/70R13 82T and 185/70R13 sizes and is a 400 treadwear. The scuttlebutt lists it as "positioned for the classic import market such as the Mini, Karmen Ghia, Datsun 510 and 2002" Tire Rack, discount tire, etc seem to list them for around 40-50 bucks/tire, anyone tossed a set of these on yet? -Charlie
  4. I'm thinking second weekend. Anyone want to toss something up on the calendar? -Charlie
  5. I'm definetly down for at least a 3 day weekend. Anyone coming through central Ohio that wants to caravan? -Charlie
  6. http://www.zeni.net/trf/TR6-250GC/224.php?s_wt=1280&s_ht=800 Interesting. My dash is already cracked around the seat belt light anyway, probably not too big a sin to put a little more of a hole in it. -Charlie
  7. The contrast on the camera phone makes it hard to tell, but does the Kamei spoiler cover the front bumper holes on the '76? -Charlie
  8. Hey Bailey, Join the Ti/02 club. -Charlie
  9. The single sidedraft? http://www.racetep.com/weber/0245single.html -Charlie
  10. Keep the plates, title it in Texas, slap the black ones on when you go to a show. Voila. On that note, anyone got some '76 blue Cali plates floating around? -Charlie
  11. http://www.bmwmobiletradition-online.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=2233&mospid=47141&btnr=11_2359&hg=11&fg=05 Yep. Cash in that junk 401k, no one is going to retire anyway. -Charlie
  12. I know it's way early to plan, but any Ohio folks up for a Friday Caravan to p-burgh? -Charlie
  13. Did the tourings have the round boot like the early '02s & 1600s? -Charlie
  14. What plugs are you looking at? Every set of Bosch Plugs I've bought, including about 16 in the past year have had the little metal end unscrew from the threaded part. -Charlie
  15. Anyone use Roadwerks? http://www.roadworksauto.com/cocomats.htm Saw their ad in the back of Roundel, they're definetly cheaper than Cocomat's site. -Charlie
  16. Are you Starsky or Hutch? -Charlie
  17. http://www.thetiiregister.com/phpmyfaq/index.php?action=artikel&cat=21&id=18&artlang=en&highlight=VIN%20decoding Voila. -Charlie
  18. FWIW, this is the old wheel. It appears to be something close to their Mark 8 or Mark 4 GT, but smaller than anything they offer on their site. It's a 320 mm wheel, and kind of obnoxious in low speed manuevers. http://www.charliegrafton.com/pics/2002/Granarot/lecarra/DSC_0092.JPG -Charlie
  19. How timely, I bought this car with an older, pretty beat up lecarra wheel on it, and just replaced it this weekend with another Lecarra, the MK 4 "supreme" wheel. http://www.charliegrafton.com/pics/2002/Granarot/lecarra/DSC_0095.JPG I like it, leather is nice, feel is good, it's a 350mm wheel, for all of $142 bucks from Jegs. It looks pretty "period" in the car. The picture is unresized, but it gives you a good idea of the overall size & look. The Roundel horn button was on the old wheel, it appears to be NLA from Lecarra. -Charlie
  20. 1600, 2002 TURBO 68-76 D146T D146T 2002, 630, 633 77-89 C22008 C22008 That's what Corbeau comes up with on their listing, I guess the 1600 would be the "early style" seat, but man they make it clear as mud. -Charlie
  21. I actually need to contact Corbeau on that. Their site lists two different brackets for the 2002, based on weird year designations. It also lists the Tii & Turbo on different lines than the standard 02, I wasn't aware that there was any difference in seat hardware on those models, so who knows. Joel, I don't think *any* aftermarket seat bracket fits an e30 without work I've had to fineagle Corbeau, Sparco, Momo, etc to get them in. -Charlie
  22. Joel, the Sebring seat was admittedly where I got the idea from. Poking around online, I've found the standard classics for about $229/side, which induces a little less testicle retraction than CCS's quotes. The "clubman" is a little too race for me, at least in this car. Yes, I admit it, I'm going for looks as well as performance. I feel like such a ricer. I've got the forzas in the e30, and they've held up pretty well for the past 3 years or so, so I'm not too worried. The GTSII's are probably the direction I'll go if I decide to stick with a reclineable seat. -Charlie
  23. Gruppe, http://www.corbeau.com/products/fixed_back_seats/classic_bucket/ http://www.corbeau.com/products/fixed_back_seats/classic_ii/ Anyone seen or done this in an '02 chassis? I've poked around the search function for a while and wasn't able to find anything on them. Current seats in the car are original, and pretty thouroughly thrashed to the point where they're basically springs with a few strips of vinyl. I saw this picture of an Alpina 3.0 Cs, and was intrigued by the fixed back setup: http://www.finecars.cc/typo3temp/GB/fc196f5a97.jpg The Corbeaus look "period" enough to fit in the car, which is why I'm wondering if anyone has seen how they sit, clearance and position wise. Obviously with fixed-back I know I'll lose most of my "back seat" usage. Thoughts, too ricey/boy racerish? -Charlie
