  1. Man, your bumper seems like a much better fit than mine. Mine sits about a quarter inch lower than it should. As for the two sides of the bumper that replace the trim, those site about a quarter to a half inch off the car. I wonder why? Ill get some pictures tomorrow. You're dealing with 40 year old metal. It's probably bent up and twisted. You gotta massage it some more. I had to do a lot of tweaking on mine to get it to line up, it still isn't that great honestly. What bumper mounts are you using, the '72s? You drilled holes on the side and mounted the anchor bolts too, right? -Charlie
  2. http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,50/page,viewtopic/p,691271/#691271 I used some M6, M5 & M4 bolts, hit 'em with a bit of body colored spraypaint. Not awful. -Charlie
  3. I remember a post over on bimmerforums a few months back asking for a 2002 in the NY area for a fashion photo shoot, I directed him over here, think I saw him post a few times. -Charlie
  4. Mine's been in hibernation since the first weekend of December, with as much salt as they dump on the roads, it really limits winter driving. Was gonna get it out this week, but the weather hasn't cooperated, depending on what it does this weekend, I might have it out. Supposed to be 40's and such next week, so that's a good excuse to get it back on the road. There's a couple of Columbus area guys out here, I've seen Stacy Gabbard's car on the road a few times, he's on this board every now and then. As for parts up here, depends on what you're looking for. Jim Heckman has a bunch of '02s lying around, he's head of the columbus chapter of the BMWCCA, swing on out to the winking lizard off Bethel on the third Wednesday of every month when we do the meetings. Jason Gipson (Eurotrash) is down in the Cincy/Batavia area. He's got tons of stuff. For little odds & ends and such, I just swing out to MAG with a printoff. They've been good to me, and get it pretty quickly. As for shops, I've never really looked, '02s are pretty simple. I know Hatem off of 5th is good for a lot of stuff, and there's WBS performance out in Dublin, they do a lot of older Porsche stuff and such, but might be a good place to look. -Charlie
  5. Gruppe, Anyone had any experiences with the "OBX" performance headers sold on ebay? Search for "OBX" just turned up a few trips to the beach. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160404342484&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT Probably 12 bucks of 304 made in China, but the price doesn't look terrible. Any experience with fitment, quality, durability, etc? -Charlie
  6. Pulled & Jetted off of another '02. Looks like a precursor to the PHH. -Charlie
  7. Hey CD, are the 40ADDHE's similar for settings? You got anything for those? Thanks. -Charlie
  8. Is that the weber universal linkage? -Charlie
  9. If you don't have an airdam or a heavily lowered car, Rhino Ramps are great. They're like 40-50 bucks at wallyworld. -Charlie
  10. Seems pretty cut and dry, the car was imported for a year, it overstayed that. Add in the allegations that the car was stolen and it seems like it is gonna get picked up. -Charlei
  11. http://paintscratch.com/ Good place to start for the raw materials. The rest? Comes down to prep and the shop. -Charlie
  12. Thirding, fourthing, whatevering. Good site. -Charlie
  13. BTW, definetly interested if it hasn't sold yet. -Charlie
  14. Tom, Yea, that's it. It's the inlet for the return pipe. Thanks for the shot. Are those Alfa 90 degree upturned airhorn mounts? -Charlie
  15. http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,50/page,viewtopic/t,336340/ Crossposting. Viali, there ya go. bring it in from Cali. I've got some big bumpers if you wanna toss those on. -Charlie
  16. Dammit, why'd you have to go and ruin the surprise? -Charlie
  17. http://www.18racing.com/wheel_rb.html 18racing carries the RBs as well in '02 fitment. They've been helpful to me with getting a set done up in a custom color as well. -Charlie
  18. If it's not full of holes, sell it to someone in Canada or the midwest where good cars are a lot more rare. They'll probably give you 1400 for it. -Charlie
  19. Okay Gruppe, got another one. Mocking up the install of the mani and side drafts, and I seem to have an extra hole on this one, compared to some of the other ones I've seen. Granted, there aren't too many pics on this site, and the posts that have them are usually broken links. Obviously the port on the far right of the picture is for brake booster vacuum, but the middle, water? For those familiar with the warneford, it's got additional piping underneath it, which I will naively assume is the return pipe. Would I run a hose from the standard coolant neck to this port? I guess eliminating the need to go to an E21 piece or whatnot. Anyone got some pictures of one fully mounted up that I could gawk at and figure out? Thanks. -Charlie
