  2. To those of you who thought it was the spider gear in the diff that exploded: "winner winner chicken dinner"!!!! I pulled the diff to find chaos--parts just shredded. The good news is the local 02 guys here are packed for bear, so SkidMarc is getting me one tomorrow. Thanks Marc,Clay, Daniel and Jay and all in the 02 community for your helpful posts. Dudley
  3. Yes it really did sound like something came loose. And for once my beast of burden is down. So tomorrow AM I will be under it to find the problem.
  4. OK I just checked your suggestions in all of the above posts....Thank You gentlemen. When I try to move the car the clutch engages but the car has a hard time moving and just clunks. Thanks, Dudley
  5. Driving home from work today I hear and feel a huge grinding noise. I pull over right away and check under the hood and all is OK I check under the car and all is well (drive shaft ect.) I put the car in gear and the car moves but it makes a loud clunk. I don't know if it's the clutch or the transmission. Thanks, Dudley

  7. Hey Marc, Welcome back to the Thunderdome of D.C. driving !!!!! I would suggest checking your fanbelt and making sure it not slipping on the alternator.... often overlooked. HTH Dudley

  11. I haven't had any issues with my Rotas either and the salt truck sprayed them twice last winter. My buddy Chris who is a huge V Dub fanatic used a really fine sand paper on the lips of his deep dish rims until the clear was gone and there was a serious shine and then he added a coat of clear afterwards and they looked better than new. And by the way the rims and the tires were on the car he just jacked up the car and spun the wheels. HTH, Dudley

  14. If your getting a hesitation when you first get on it...... I would look at the timing. I bought a new 32/36 followed the forums formula for rejetting and had a huge stumble I checked the plugs, wires, cap and rotor which were all in great shape. I adjusted the timing and the air mixture screw and bob's your uncle. HTH Dudley

  16. Hello everyone and Happy Easter, I'm in the process of replacing my center link, tie rods and the idler arm bushing. My question is.... I removed my old idler arm bushing and they are black with groves that match the inside of the idler arm and the new ones are the blue plastic ones will these work on what I have ? They seem wider Thanks, Dudley
