  1. Well, I suppose it's time to start showing off my humble attempt at bringing Polaris back to life. Here he is checking out the NV desert sunset...
  2. Pulling my interest in the steering wheel...I've made other arrangements. But I'm still good for the seats... Apologies for any confusion.
  3. Yeah...no sh-t, right? I suppose we should all be checking the original post date before we get too excited. Oh, and I was so very excited.....
  4. VERY interested. I can arrange for SF area pick-up...so if those other worthy buyers are not worthy...just let me know.
  5. Picked up one of the Chamonix '02 Turbo prints, generously donated by Vuvroom, at Brisbane last month. It's beautiful, and always gets positive comments by people visiting my house. Love the FJ40 items as well. When the t-shirts are available, I have a feeling I'll be spending a bit of $$$ with these guys in the future...
  6. Thanks Steve, I gotta check tail light refurbish that post out... I'm saving a few of my better ones for the Granatrot resto. But I have to say Polaris is really trying my patience theses days. I really thought it would be coming together a lot quicker.
  7. Thanks to all for these ideas. I like Steves idea of the window weatherstrip. I think I'll roll in on that first. And now that it's mentioned, I did hear about the IV tubing solution. BTW, Steve I'm VERY jealous of those clean and shiney tail light housings.
  8. Has anyone found a suitable substitute for that gray soft rubber "string" that seal the square light lenses? I tried ordering some neoprene "string"...the size was good, but it was too hard, and the lens wasn't able to compress it enough to get a good seal. It just pains me to pay nearly $50/ea for those things when I know there must be an entire spool of that stuff someplace for about the same price.
  9. The Polaris resto SO needs that! pm'd! It's getting close. back from pain/body late last month. Etsy carpet to go in this weekend.
  10. Hey, can you send me a pic of what you have left to my email?  Thermalsea@gmail.com. Perhaps we can strike a deal  for the remainder...

    thanks,

    Mark

sent you an email just now.

  11. Thanks Randy, I'm about two weeks late I guess! Ultimately I think I got the butterflies to properly open on warm up, but I never properly tweaked the kick-down from fast idle. I'll reference your post in the future as I'm sure I will revisit this issue. The advice is much appreciated. Well, the short story is that it didn't matter much as Schwarz died hard on the way to Brisbane and needed a tow home (deep nasty engine problems courtesy of the PO). Then wrestling with a buggered carrier bearing on Malaga's driveshaft...just as Polaris rolls in my driveway fresh from the paint booth while Granatrot sits quietly jealous of Polaris' new look. sigh. Four is really too effin many....
  12. Right on, Toby. Thanks for the quick reply and reassurances. I'll tackle that task tonight as soon as return home from my fake job...and get to the real job of working on my cars!
  13. Pix? Year of car? I installed that same set up a few months ago. I didn't have an issue...but I'll certainly help if I can. Here's what I posted back in Nov 2017.
  14. For reasons that would bore most to tears, I need to convert Schwarz (Weber 32/36 DGAV) from a water to electric choke system. In my parts stash, I happen to have a 32/36 DGAV (needs a rebuild) that has the electric system. I've done a preliminary removal of both electric and water choke housings, and it seems like a simple swap (see pix). 1. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is it just a bolt on swap, or am I missing something? Are there other adjustments that must be considered when changing to the electric system? 2. And since carbs are not really my strong point, it looks like it must be necessary to pre-tension the bi-metal spring to correctly adjust the initial cold choke setting. So, I could certainly use some guidance on that, or other choke setting wisdom as well. 3. If I'm able to pull this off I've heard two schools of thought on connecting the electric lead...to the coil, or to a switched circuit directly. Comments on this? Any help very, very much appreciated so I can get this guy over to Brisbane this weekend. Thanks!
  15. I agree. The seats were recovered and priced accordingly - jbaumshelter was straight up about that. I wasn't looking for a period correct interior for my daily driver...just a color match, and these fit the bill nicely. Again, my experience with this gentleman was very very positive.
  16. Uhhh, Ahem. OK, that was the before...with no seal. Here's the after.
  17. Hey Connor, I finally got a good weather day down here and installed my first set of these on Schwarz. I just want to say THANKS! for taking the time and making the effort to have these manufactured for the '02 community. They fit great, and the rubber is noticeably higher quality than was originally on the car. The fast and personal service was much appreciated. Looking forward to seeing you and your family at Bay Area '02 Fest. Before After Old vs the New The hood seal after...no before because Schwarz didn't have one!
  18. Very, very fast response. Was extremely helpful and shipping charges were very reasonable. My seats arrived quickly, and were better than advertised. Would definitely buy from this seller again!
  19. This is GREAT info, and I've searched to no avail for the pictures that were previously posted on this issue. Brake warning light stays on after you've bled the system on 1976 cars. I just about had myself committed trying to source the problem. Ingraham has posted a little gem here. As I recall from the previous post, ONLY on 1976 '02s, there is that little reset button hidden on the bottom of the brake pressure switch, or differential pressure switch, that you need to push back in in order to get the brake warning light to go out and start functioning normally again.
  20. Just finished with that "how to". Here's the link:
  21. I JUST finished my Ireland Engineering swaybar (or sway bar) install on Swarz today. I have to say it took a combination of your helpful notes above and Jeff's (Ireland) pdf instruction manual to get it together. But it all went together nicely. It's late, I'm gonna get some sleep, but in the next few days, I'll put together some of my lessons learned. Hopefully this will help other '02 owners who have purchased this popular kit.
