  1. Superb, really clear and right to the point. Thanks mate, really appreciate it!
  2. Doing my ebay search I stumbled upon these... Are they usable? I mean modifying the combustion chamber accordingly (they sorta look like alpina hemi pistons...) Tell me what you guys think... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300429408929&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_1223wt_1165
  3. You know you've been driving a beater '02 for too long when -You constantly check if the accelerator pedal is still in place. (jammed once in full throttle while turning right in a light, a poor delivery guy in front of me never saw a cooler power-slide in his rearview mirror before. Managed to kill the engine just in time to stop behind him. He came to talk to me scared s**t less. Fun times.) -You turn the wheel of your power-steering car and finish almost driving on the sidewalk. -When its raining you turn with just a pinch of throttle hoping for the back end to hold. -When you drive constantly holding the Hi-Lo beam light switch because if you don't only the city lights work. -When you have more pieces of the car in your bedroom than inside your car actually (I'm 22. student.) Gotta love it. What can I say, I'm hooked.
  4. For a strange reason I've always loved this vid: God I love going sideways...
  5. Hey Arden! Yes I actually did, but the price was way too high (around 800 bucks), they said that the time it would take them to do the machine work was way to high, doing it in a 3 axis machine should be much cheaper, the thing is that I don't have access to that technology here... Anyway, I still think that it can be done if we work together...
  6. Hey esty, I must say I'm a bit of a purist myself but I must confess I am a bit curious of how the would look on a finished car... They look like a nice touch, and as you said, they should really look good in a dark car. I'm sure they're gonna look great on your car...
  7. Hi everyone, I was doing my daily free time fleabay search when I came across these. They look quite cool, has anyone used them before here? I'm looking for a picture of how they would look on the car... Anyway let me know what you think... Cheers, and happy holidays!! 8. Yes its been done, I saw it once here in Uruguay, a Lotus Seven replica with an M10 out of a 320, went for a ride on it, goes like hell! I'm saving one of my extra engines for a project of that sort... something low, ultralight and ultra fast... It can surely be done plus you can use the rear suspension out of a 02 and have independent suspension all around (thats gotta be fun...) Cheers mate!
  9. The drill idea is actually quite good, It didn't take me too much time to do it one one of my spares, you cant force the gears since they wont roll and eventually something will brake, another option but a bit more complicated is to remove the shaft/pin that goes through the gears, but again its a bit messy to reassemble. If it were up to me I'd go the drill way... much less risk of breaking something... Hope it helps. Cheers mate! Bruce
  10. I suppose this is your way of saying "Few!! that was close!"?
  11. Hey I'm interested in the Headlight buckets, also the instrument cluster, shoot me an email with the pics of the parts whenever you can. My email is brucedemuro@hotmail.com Thanks mate! Cheers, Bruce
  12. Hey I'm interested, shoot me an email with the pics of the set to brucedemuro@hotmail.com Cheers! Bruce
  13. It took me half of an afternoon to change one due to that same damned circlip certainly a PIA!, until I found a unorthodox way to get them out and in, just pass a wire through the little holes and pull from them till you take it out, do the same to put it in just line it and pull from the wires till it falls into place... I feel your pain brother!
  14. That would be 3, my dad, my grand dad, and myself... well 4 if you count the cat which for some reason has a strange fixation with mechanics...
  15. Hey I'm interested, shoot me an email with the pictures when you have them. My email is brucedemuro@hotmail.com Just let me know, Bruce Email Sent.
  16. Great! I'm doing some research to build in the future a Alpina replica hemi race engine, and wanted to have some info in these kind of details. So thanks for the info!
  17. Superb! Just cleared my doubts out! Thanks mate!
  18. Hey does anyone know what manifolds did Alpina use on the A3S Cars? On the old archive photos it looks like the BMW original manifolds used in the Ti's that I suppose they must have ported to match the 45DCOE's, the thing that throws me off I that I've also seen them using the A4 Manifold that is just one piece instead of the 2 piece BMW one... Alpina experts out there, tell me what you think...
  19. Jajajaj, thats why I have a complete free flow exhaust, yes it may be loud, but you only get paranoid if something really goes WRONG! God I love these cars...
  20. Yes I have, this is why I got the quote for a stock steering box (the price would be the same for the Q/R one) The whole idea was to do so, as I said previously the price they gave me was 800USD just for the worm gear...
  21. Well as promised, today I went out to a machine shop to get the parts quoted... As expected the numbers aren't pretty, to have just the worm replicated the price would be around 800USD that is just for the worm, the roller is quite simple so its less. Given the finished product would be the same or even better quality as the original since I've seen these guys work and its superb... This is why I need to have the Quick Ratio Steering model to compare the parts because I'm sure I can find a compatible worm and roller gears in one of our shops here for less... Tell me what you think guys...
  22. Hey I'm interested! Also, are they complete (no parts missing)? they look like they were never open. How much would shipping be o Montevideo Uruguay? Just let me know... Cheers! Bruce
  23. The horror ooh the horror! Dearly beloved... we're gathered here to say good bye to a fellow brother... though he perished battling a demon of goliath proportions, he gave his life in order to save fellow brothers. Let it be noted his death was not in vain. PS: By the way, that damn machine! I really could have used that rear panel...
