  1. Those are exactly what I was looking for, I'll pick one out. Was the original plant there on 80th street? For some reason, corporate wasn't interested in being associated with beer, although most of the tool users I know drink it. I forgot Jockey, i need to make some white cotton can cozies! Someone suggested a Simmons pillow top box with a "don't remove under penalty of law" tag. Thanks for digging those up! quote="Jerzy"]Interesting tale about your 1937 ratchet. The tap box sounds fun. Do you plan to include Jockey? Here's all I have in old SOT logos. These are low-res. If you're interested in any of these I'll email you the hi-res copies. The hi-res scan of the wrapping paper image is over 6 meg. If you want a particular logo, I'll crop the scan and send you that one. You might enjoy this -
  2. Hi, Jerzy neither Mike Drozd or Max Jankowski thought to pick some up on their way to the shop today, I can't find them in Zion, who's got them in Kenosha? and, do you have a link to past snap-on logos? I'm looking for one that contains Kenosha, I'm building a tap box for the Kenosha homebrew club to look like a toolbox, with tool handles for the taps, the theme is world reknowned companies like AMC and Snapon based in town, we'll be using it at conventions and fests around the midwest. regarding the date code list you posted, the 71n ratchet I use daily was made in 1937, my dealer had the rebuild kit on his truck!
  3. it was a weber 32/36 that was a 316, the s was only to pluralize
  4. I tossed a 2.0 head on a 1.6, no torque but marginally more top end, not enough to make it worthwhile. You could port the 1.6 head to match the manifold, but you're still stuck with small valves, so no matter what carb/manifold you install, it won't breath well. E21 316s came with 2bbls, you might find one if you look hard, the stock carb is probably as big as the cam and valves can stand, I don't remember if the 316 had bigger valves
  5. I got over 30 going to ofest last year, and over 20 in chicago area traffic,. check your plugs after a normal drive, looking for dark deposits from excess fuel, I always set the linkage by leaning it til it surges a little under load, then richening it a bit, followed by setting the idle screw. the adjustable rod in the linkage is a macro adjustment, the screw in the tuna can is an idle compensation. The problem with setting it by the book is it assumes no wear and a perfect pump and injectors. you may be a little retarded too (timing)
  6. In Illinois, an owner doesn't surrender the title if it is bought for salvage, so the title status is not changed
  7. and comes in grey and beige like what the factory used, and in water or solvent bases. The water base is nice because it can be buitt up, and doesn't skin over when drying which can delay the total drying time
  8. I have a few 1/18 Mobile Tradition 1600 tourings in Atlantikblau, I can send a pic later, email me for a price Dave
  9. I'd like to get a private label beer for this falls bmwcca oktoberfest at Road America, and it needs a catchy name, So far there's roundie rye, kidney grille kolsch, and separator valve stout for the E46 guys, TiminMn came up wih TIIPA, I'm sure this group can come up with some more, let's hear them!
  10. according to the listing it's an in tank pump, probably for an E30
  11. The early 72 was at 9.5:1 with a 121 head fitted with 46mm intakes, late 72 and 73 used 9.3:1 with the E12 head which already used 46mm valves, My understanding is that all plastic runner intakes were used on 121 heads. I had one of each unmolested back in the day, no difference through the seat of the pants.
  12. Lets resolve to get our 02s out more this decade, and save as many as we can from the crushers! I hope to see my old friends and meet new ones at the many events coming up, I resolve to get to some of the more remote ones since the CCA ofest is close to home this year. Dave
  13. a friend is looking at a 635 that was maintained there, just wondering if they are honest and qualified thanks Dave
  14. don't forget windy city vintagefest 9/18, there's an 02 fest in june in South Bend at the Tire Rack, and in Sept, CCA Ofest at Road America, just a ferry ride away from you. Merry Christmas, Joel, though in your line of work, you probably can't wait for it to just be over. Dave
  15. Since it was snowing today, I took the opportunity to get in the holiday spirit and capture the 02 related garnish, everybody have a safe holiday! (Cat is not really 02 related)
  16. I got a 72 tii in 1980, and had expected the 3.45, my research back then indicated that the only mention of that ratio in US cars was in sales brochures. I have 2760136 and 2 others in the 2760400s, all are 3:64 but they could be on their fourth replacement by now.

  18. hey, come up to my barn, push aside a tii or two, and there's a few old bikes I'd get rid of in the spring
  19. that was essentially a pinto carb, the motorcraft and holley versions were pretty similar. back in the day, it wasn't that much cheaper than a weber, so I doubt there were any kits using them.
  20. We have our own Brighton run here with the AACA, Chicago to Brighton Wisconsin, a town consisting of farms, a catholic church, and a bar. It;s fun to see the bar parking lot full of old U.S. iron, Rolls and Bentleys, and even the occaisional 02. I was in London in the 80s, staying in the Gloucester Hotel, and came out the morning of my departure to see a 1903 Rambler which was built 10 miles from my home, along with a slew of other pre WW1 cars lining up for the Brighton Run recreation. Then my bus showed up...
  21. crap, now I remember what else I needed bosch copper plugs were $.69
