  1. They have Castrol GTX on the shelf for $3.99. but their black friday deal is 5 qts and a purolator filter for $4.99, two deals per customer. They had some 20w50 on the shelf, the filters are good enough for my van I guess, Hurry!
  2. as long as it's ready for 02fest at the Tire Rack next June! Dave, nice meeting you at the vintagefest finally. I would drive it over if I had good brakes and wheel bearings but for now, it's going to undergo many maintenance and modification items for this winter. If I can't get anywhere after looking at the manual, I will take you up on your offer next spring when I hope to have the car road worthy. Hell, we should probably get together anyways. Thank you all for the tips. I will try downloading the kfish manual and tinkering with it.
  3. I used to set up mixture by the smell, timing affects it as well.
  4. Imagine if you wrote Delco, they'd say: your question is very important to us, please hold a year or two while we don't respond.
  5. looks like a stock photo of the MT tii, in a story on the Z4 and BMW history I don't normally read this, someone left it in the stall
  6. I'm gonna try, but it'll be a 9-12 am short visit
  7. what airdam is that? the car looks great. Thanks! This airdam may predate Irelands' copies, I have a pic from 1990 showing it already installed. I trimmed the cracked lip before last years' ofest.
  8. looks like a great event, I was tempted to go home that way from ofest, but I would have missed a lot of the fun stuff, next year already looks iffy, 10th wedding anniversary and 200th ofest in Munich call for a trip. I hope to see you all at road america for cca ofest in august! Dave
  9. This is cool! I thought it would have been more popular, I'm sure it will with time. New users should be prompted to register for this when they join the faq. I need to combine the 02 map with beermapping.com so we can always find a faqer to have a beer with
  10. yeah, I need a 5 speed! almost a trouble free week, just before heading home, I had to change the t/stat to pump hose. Ten miles after leaving home, I knocked the muffler clamp loose on a construction site, tightened it at the hotel, and hit it again on the way back, same place. I was getting tired of slamming the doors when Phil Marx (vollcabrio owner) showed up with a bag of latch buffers, he walked around Bimmermeet handing them out to those who were missing them, thanks Phil! I got to meet a few faqers, and I hope to meet more next year in Wisconsin! Dave If you look at the pics a few posts earlier, my car is the light blue roundie parked next to the grandstand.
  11. mike, I'm at ofest. i have something at home, I'll be back monday Dave

  15. If you're on the fence, come on out, you won't be dissapointed. If anybody wants to make a grand entrance, we could come up with a meeting point such as t he Mundelein Crowne Plaza hotel or a breakfast joint, there's also a carwash near the hotel. There's 20 swap spaces already reserved, if you have a car in the show area, you can lay your stuff out with your car or have a separate space, email to vintageday@windycitybmw.com to register, no cost, if you don't pre register, come anyway and register there, but please pre register so they can get enough food (also free) for more info, see windycitybmw.com
  16. E21 is outside the tank and runs 50 psi, I run a stock 30 lb tii pump with no regulator and a dynamic restriction with webers, the fuel flows free but has to reverse direction twice in Y shaped vacuum tees to get to the return, never ran dry, even heading up the mountain to Ofest 02.
  17. Joel, congrats on your clean streak! I'll remember not to tempt you. Do you have a platform bolt? Maybe we can get your car in the air and replace it. Bring whatever goodies you feel like, we'll have plenty opportunity to sit around, snack, and tell lies!
