  1. One more of just the gauges. That little red LED below R on the gas gauge is for low fuel. Something I added a while back. Only had to use it a couple of times.
  2. Not easily if you want to keep all the same lights, etc. If you go custom it can be done easier.
  3. While they look serviceable consider this. If your head gets cut (surfaced) and you use a new timing chain, you MAY need to adjust the cam timing to get back to stock. An adjustable gear is not too expensive. They are available for both single and double row. Remember if you choose to change the top gear, also change the bottom one on the crank. A new chain guide is not too expensive either. Good luck, Mike
  4. I would suggest you check this and your motor mounts as '76mintgrun'02 said above.
  5. Looking like project creep to me. But on the positive side, it will run better, shift better and the center bearing will not make noise.
  6. I have a set of 89.47 piano tops that are 8.3:1. In good shape with wrist pins and clips. Can post photos if you are interested. Thanks, Mike
  7. Got a few of them. They came with studs that I purchased from Ireland for my MINI. Mike
  8. PM sent. You can also contact me at mike.87@juno.com if you want. Thanks, Mike
  9. Looks like all the threaded holes are good. I put some socket head cap screws in them for verification. Check the photos.
  10. I will check and let you know. Also grab a photo or two so you can see it. Mike
  11. I have one but it is worn and slightly bent as well, although it does work well in the carb cover. Let me know. Mike
  12. So your current engine has flat tops and an E12. And you have piano tops and a 121 as spares. The 121 will go on your current engine without modification. And the piano tops will work with the E12 without modification. It will be a lot of work to make the piano tops work with the 121. E12 flows better anyway, but the 121 will make more power (if used with the correct high compression pistons). Good luck, Mike
  13. VDO makes two connector senders that is made for that exact situation. One terminal is for the gauge and the other for the light. Pressure sender This one is for 80 psi. You will have to find the one you need for your specific gauge. Also make sure you choose the correct thread for your application.
  14. I had BAR do a claim against a repair shop that did some work on a VW Rabbit engine many years ago. It took a long time (close to a year) and the shop did not admit any wrong doing. What I had done was a valve job including new valve guides and valve stem seals. Once the head was put back on the engine and the engine run it burned oil at the rate of a quart per 1000 miles. After doing some research I discovered that it was improperly installed valve stem seals. I had the problem fixed by another shop and went after the original shop through BAR. In the end BAR got me a partial refund but the shop never admitted anything. They did however get a black mark on their record and ultimately went out of business. The BAR people that I worked with were great. Be prepared to write a complete story of what you did with dates, etc. This all took place in Northern CA (SF Bay Area). Good luck, Mike
  15. A&E is gone. Sold out to Dinan Try Motorspeed West in Santa Clara.
  16. Looks like it is available from a few places. Here is one example... Bush Do a search for the P/N without dashes in your favorite search engine. "24 51 1 666 364" Good luck!
  17. Sounds like a possible bad throw out bearing.
  18. Depends on your bypass tube. Some have a small nipple on them for the return of the water choke. If yours does the run a hose from that to the nipple on the block.
  19. They go out through the back of the wheel. There is a flange on them that you can see in the second picture. And they are a tight fit; tapered I think.
  20. With a factory alternator, a high power head unit and four speakers will suit your needs. You can get 'pods' to mount them on the kick panels or just use low profile ones and mount them in the kick panels. If they are too deep, you will need spacers. Put a pair of 6 x 9s in the rear if you like. You might be able to get some 5 1/4" round ones for the front. Just be sure to go into the store with a budget. Good luck, Mike
