  1. never saw that pic......nice hot rod!!!....too low in frt IMO..... Ive always felt that pig cheek cars look great in unusual color combo's... For our pig dream, I sometimes wish the car was NOT Inka... thnx 4 the link What is PIG CHEEK ? If you follow the link you'll see that the car is sporting pig cheeks - it's just a different type of wheel arch flare as opposed to turbo flares or box flares. Oink. *UPDATE* Just added the pic to my original post
  2. best stance I've ever seen on an 02: http://www.bmw02.de/BMW-2002ti.254.0.html?&L=2 Not sure how practical though...
  3. I reckon I know exactly the noise you're talking about. Shortly after I installed my 5 spd gearbox I would notice at low speeds the 'jingle' you're talking about. It's quite distinctive and once heard not forgotten! When I finally got under the car it turned out that I hadn't quite got the new 5 spd and the driveshaft aligned and one of the bolts in the guibo had worn down significantly. I don't have a photo but I still have the bolt and could post a picture if you wanted! If I were you I'd get under your car and carefully check all the alignment and the bolts. I noticed the problem lying under the car and slowly turning the driveshaft - when closely observed you could see a gap opening and closing between the guibo and the end of the driveshaft on one of the bolts. The other two were perfectly fine and tight but that third one was a bit tricky. Check it over soon and check it well as if you're problem is the same as mine I guess it could have serious consequences! Good luck
  4. Yes, that's the same as my car. I believe the sunroof panel itself is the same size and it was just a case of welding in the mechanism from the e21. The guy who did mine didn't do a great job (as with so many other things) and the panel catches in a couple of places when you wind it back But I think if you took the time and had the skill it would be a great addition. (personally I find all vintage sunroofs not quite worth the hassle but I always end up with cars that have them!!)
  5. Sounds like you've got a tilt and slide out of the e21. The PO of my car installed one - I like having the tilt function. Post some pics so we can see - the two panels are quite different.
  6. Yep, I installed an M3 starter on my tii 18 months ago and it's brilliant - gone is the minutes (or so it seemed) of cranking to get it started. My car was never a 'happy' starter but it's so much better now. A highly recommended upgrade.
  7. I don't wish to be funny but there are pics of the motor on the listing...
  8. I know that the old saying goes something like have a bad experience and you tell 10 people have a good one and you tell only a couple - well there's seems to be a lot of bad experiences here so to balance it out a bit - I've dealt with Top End and they were very helpful and shipped the parts to me in the UK promptly with no problems so wouldn't hesitate to recommend. I'm sorry you've not had such a good experience, hope it gets sorted soon for you.
  9. Maybe not quite what you're after but my car's actually painted in a Lambo pearl - photoshop's good but never as good as the real thing!
  10. Best thing to do is to leave it there... (as a Brit am I allowed to say that?!)
  11. A merry Christmas to you all! I hope it's been a good one... Cheers!
  12. ah Dennis is hopeless when it comes to spannering - he only works in imperial and just can't get the metric way of doing things. i think it's cause his mother was a sphinx...
  13. Sorry to stray away from the topic but Lee, I love your cat! I thought I was the only one with an '02 obsessed cat. My cat (Dennis) loves to get in my car. Quality's crap but this picture just cracks me up! I must have opened my boot only 30 seconds before and he was straight in...
  14. Don't forget of course that seats from 4 door saloons don't have a tilt mechanism. Access to the rear seats would be limited at best...
  15. Well for starters I'd say they were on the wrong side of the car
  16. No affiliation. Wish I had £40k! http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C129030/
  17. Yeah that would be really good. My dash is crap.
  18. This particular one is lambo orange!
  19. I don't know what that setup is Nick, but I want it. In fact, I probably need it. Can you enlighten me? (apologies for the minor hijack!)
  20. A belated many happy returns to you CD! Thank you for all your help over the years from Adam & Betsy
  21. Hi Dave, I've just been looking at the Ireland dizzy myself and wondered if you could give me an update on how yours is going? TIA
  22. I have nothing to compare to but my tii has (probably) a 284 cam installed by a PO. My mechanic who is very experience with these cars (his own cars include a regular tii and a 1602 which has been heavily modified and numerous other interesting old BMWs) says my car goes like a rocket compared to his and really enjoys driving it! My own take is that it really picks up about 3.5 - 4k revs and is very addictive!
  23. Curt, thanks for the info, I think there are a couple more corroded connections in my head... Several more journeys this week and still not even a flicker! Bloody thing. I'll do what you say at the weekend just to be sure. Hope it doesn't upset it again!! Cheers
  24. well, I promised to report back my findings but I'm afraid they're not very conclusive... I jumped in my car last Thursday to leave work and as I was starting it up the light suddenly came back on and has remained fine all weekend. Strange little cars... Thanks to all for the pointers.
