  1. I think my fellow '02ers have helped you. I'm interested in where you are in Dorset. I'm ex West Moors and still have my Touring that I bought in Christchurch in 1986. Good luck with your tii resto.
  2. Very good. Your car was NOT an auto. BMW incorrectly noted your car as auto, however, the 166XXXX VIN notes it as a manual gearbox car. As I noted above, 2002 autos were not offered until 1969.
  3. After some research, I found out that the car was originally an automatic and I was able to confirm that it was one of the first automatic 2002 sold in the US at Maximilian Edwin Hoffman's NYC dealership in 1968. FYI - the first US 2002 auto (2530001), supplied via Hoffman, was built May 1969. The first Euro LHD & RHD autos were built Jan 1969. How did yours become a 1968?
  4. Well done. The two pics need to be saved somewhere as no one thinks to look at the reflectors.
  5. Here you go..... 1973 BMW 2002 for sale by owner - Berkeley, CA - craigslist SFBAY.CRAIGSLIST.ORG Beautiful Colorado orange 1973 2002 for sale. Built with every performance upgrade by well known Marin County mechanic as his personal car. Features include performance rebuilt engine with dual side...
  6. What happened to your pictures?
  7. However, item 1 (in Black) is 51 41 1 816 281 and if you check the listing below that picture in the Blue Book it is noted as left side for LHD (even though the pic shows a right side handle).
  8. Ah, ok. My mistake, although I thought all RHD right side handles were like your last (bottom) picture. Don't think BMW suplied a 'flat' one for the RHDs.
  9. Ok, I'm confused. Are you looking for the 'normal' RHD Passenger (LEFT) door handle - like the pic below. If so, like John said BMWs from the Neue Klasse era - Index page WWW.02FORUM.CO.UK
  10. VIN 1528052, so, not a 1600ti. Seller has been trying to shift it for 2.5 yrs that I know of. He started at $39k, so $24.5k may perhaps get a bite or two.
  11. John, I see! If your buying 'used' then (below) is probably your best forum option. Shipping from over here (USA) would be prohibitive for anything over a few ounces. Buying new, obviously Jaymic & Linwar (maybe others in UK as I've been gone a loooong time). Walloth & Nesch have shipping discounts now & then, so, worth a try. Oh, and if your feeling bullet proof, there's always FaceBook. Good luck with the tii. BMWs from the Neue Klasse era - Index page WWW.02FORUM.CO.UK
  12. Unbelievable! Not to far from you is a place called Jaymic. Use google and check them out.
  13. The Seller bought it on BAT - here's the listing including audience comments. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1972-bmw-2002-36/
  14. No VIN plate AND no holes for it. I'll wager it's a 1976 (& probably Inka-ish) Let us know the VIN.
  15. Sorry, no info on that one.
  16. Since 2016 it has moved from VA-NC-AL-TN and last I heard it's again in NC (Greenville). Doesn't stay with an Owner very long. Pics from 2017 & 2022.
  17. It would appear my info is not complete. I now know VIN 1063700 & 1063786 both are 1972 1602s assembled in Portugal. The mystery continues. The 3629581 is a German built 1971 2002.
  18. Unusual colour for, what appears to be, a pre facelift Touring. Normally Agave.
  19. Huh! A little late Harry, Chris wanted this over 15 years ago.
  20. It's been a loooong while since I owned an E12, so, I was surprised to find the FirstFives Forum defunct. Anyway, maybe this is some help.... https://www.firstfives.org/faq/AC/ac_repair.html
  21. Dionk was selling it in 2020. Do not know if he suceeded & got his optimistic price. https://www.bmw2002faq.com/forums/topic/268406-rusted-parts-car/
  22. Interesting. Carl must have had 2 Cabrios then. According to a copy of the Cabriolet Owners Register 2 January 1987, Carl had a 1970 Chaminox Cabrio 1558394, but no mention of the US spec Cabrio.
  23. Apparently a common problem. I have number 3 stalk switch waiting to go in, (#2 was supposedly good!!!) but i'm wondering if there is another reason for being able to flash the high beams with the stalk pulled but not have them come on with the stalk pushed.
