I as well as others in and around the area will keep an eye peeled. Cars like this don't usually stay in one piece for very long. But dang, his grammar is well....

I'd guess its more likely to be a joy ride rather than parts...... most thieves like 10-15 year old cars when there is the most demand for used parts.

Here is the NYC list as of 2008...

1. 2000 Honda Civic

2. 1994 Honda Accord

3. 1991 Toyota Camry

4. 1996 Dodge Caravan

5. 1996 Nissan Maxima

6. 2000 Jeep Cherokee

7. 2002 Ford Explorer

8. 1994 Plymouth Voyager

9. 1999 Ford Taurus

10. 2007 Toyota Corolla

It was stolen because

10) It will appear in the next edition of "Repo" since it looks suspicious

9) It was taken into protective custody by BMWNA since the paint job has an eerie resemblance to the BMW Hybrid

8) Vigilantes from the CCA have a clandestine 2002 Hilfe-Gruppe

7) CARB is now impounding violators

6) "XXL" Magazine photoshoot needed a prop to go with a retro Afro hairstyle piece they're working on

5) The Ducks mistook it for a missing mini-Zamboni

4) The wheels fit a Honda, the rest of the car was thrown away

3) The paint scheme is attractive for a made-for-cable movie about LA car chases and will appear on the 11 pm news momentarily

2) A FAQ'r recognized the spoiler and flares as unshipped merchandise he'd paid for

1) Someone read that article about that E30 homemade rally car and has taken it to Juarez to prep for the next Baja

Is fuel efficiency really what we need most desperately? I say what we really need is a car that can be shot when it breaks down.

Hey Sislane, the car that was stolen was not mine. Like i mentioned in my first post, i just saw it on craigslist, i don't even know that guy. That picture that you posted of my car is a totally different car. I kept it bone stock and eventually sold it because i didn't want to modify such an original car. I think you got confused.

Oh good, because that was a pretty 1600. Glad it's safe & stock.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
