I guess maybe what I'm wondering is what did you do differently to it to make it usable. What detergent, degreaser, or cleaning solution do you use and how you mix/put it in. Is the water inlet/outlet connected to the utility or do you have a reservoir of cleaning solution. Does it clean the parts with hot water? What parts do you use it for, do you get worried using aluminum parts in there?

The machine is connected to the utilities as if it was a normal dishwasher

I have made no mods to the dishwasher other than it only runs off a hot water supply. I am just using normal dishwasher power. I put any thing in it Ali, steel, plastic, rubber, glass basically anything that will fit.

at start I just wanted to change the diff to something a little easier to source, and then from there it seems to have got a little out of control

I bailed from work today and did some work on the car instead. Managed to get the last of the brake lines made and bled up the brakes.

Got all the radiator and heater hose installed- plus used the heater control valve from the E36 as my 2002 was leaking.

Plumbed up the power steering. drive shaft on, check and filled all the fluids.

Started on getting some wiring in. got a long way to go here as I want to rerun all the wiring to the front through the guard and not through the engine bay. Also because I'm using the e36 column this creates extra wiring work.

Did make up a gauge cluster and mounted the battery in the boot.

The car got an exhaust today!!! A bit of a last minute thing, had to go home at lunch time and do a bit of dodgy wiring to get the car going and then off to the muffler shop

After picking up the car I took it around to the guys that tune my race car to see if they could help me set up the ignition timing. After checking the basic's and setting the base timing we run into a problem with the timing above 2500 rpm. After using their scope and checking the ignition inputs we traced the fault to hall effect sensor that does the wasted spark, at first glance would appear that the cam encoder that I modified is giving us false readings. It looks like a mark II mod is needed.

Besides that set back I was really happy with the way the car drove. It still needs a alignment but it drove striaght, the power steer worked well and the brakes stopped the car. I'm pretty pleased considering all the work that has been done to it.

I look forward to reading about your warp-speed progress every time I see an update in this thread. It seems that you're able to accomplish more in a day than I can in a week. Do you have to stand still to cast a shadow? Have you ever seen the hands of a clock move? Do you experience the phenomenon we northerners refer to as "night"? Did you have anything to do with the statues on Easter Island?

Your engineering and fabrication kung fu are viciously strong. Though your project seems to have an issue with scope creep, you appear to be managing it quite well. I hope you'll write a self-help book on results based management. I suspect you could get it written while brushing your teeth one morning, or between conference calls with NASA.

P.S. If this is your street car, does your race car have a fusion drive?

Your comments have made my day. I remember seeing a clock once, and no my race car does not a fusion drive I opted to use a Infinite Improbability Drive instead. Unfortunately last time i used it, it turned into a bowl of petunias. Apparently the chances of this happening are 8,767,128 to 1 against.
