Howdy FAQland!

It's been a little while. Maybe my car has been running too well or something... uh oh, probably shouldn't have said that.

Some of you saw my ad in the Cars section, and if you know about the 24 Hours of LeMons you may have guessed that I was after a race car.

A $500 race car: http://24hoursoflemons.com/

As luck would have it, the perfect car popped up. Even better, the perfect team has materialized as well. A roster of FAQ ringers/miscreants whom you know all too well 'round here in fact:

Norm (norm)

Aashish (ash00)

Evan (evanc)

Tom (tjones02)

Sean (Casey Motorsports)

We're planning on decking out our $500 '76 to look like the Frank Stella CSL Art Car from the same year. I'm working on a blog for this whole adventure, so more info is coming soon. The race is May 10-11 and is open to spectators, mark your calendars.

For now, have a look here: http://flickr.com/photos/showymcshow/sets/72157603832457915/

URGENT! WE NEED A SERVICEABLE WEBER 38/38, PRONTO!

We're doing some engine work this weekend and it would be awesome to sort out the carb at the same time. If you have a 38/38 you can part with for free/trade/very cheap, please give me a shout as soon as you can. We're in Northern California, and we can promise your carburetor fame, glory, and a slight chance of getting crushed. Very slight.

More details soon, please let us know if you can help with the Weber!

I'm at (four one five) 272-6100 or showymcshow at gmail dot com

sounds like funn!

Don't forget you'll need a machined-out intake manifold

for that 38/38 carbontrader - and are you using a tii exhaust manifold

on the auspuff side? Post a detailed shopping list of the parts you need.

WOOHOO!

Thank you so much Brad! I sent you a message via the FAQ mail. We'll definitely hook you up with some LeMons swag for your generosity, and of course I'll keep you posted on the race effort.

Cheers!

You will see my tii in the parking lot, but my friends and I will have an E30 and a Porsche 944 out there.

Love the theme- we were actually thinking about doing that on the E30, but probably not anymore.

A full shopping list will come soon, but in the meantime does anyone out there have a decent 4-speed driveshaft in Northern California you can part with for free/beer/cheap?

Thanks all!

i've got a set of big bumpers and possibly a T-stat. in Marin.

i'd be totally thrilled if you'd be willing to swap your uncut blue door panels for my set of speaker-holed blue door panels, just thought i'd ask.

and Davin, you could see the status of your old white car, btw.

This will actually be my first race, I just joined my friends team with the edition of the E30.

I am stoked a 2002 will be back in this one...

If anyone has any performance parts for a 325e, we would gladly appreciate and would throw up stickers for your company or the site.

I could probably swing over there on my way home from work Thurs or Fri. What's your phone number?

PS- I'd love to give you the door panels, but we will have to Ebay them to offset the costs of other maintenance items. The rules say that you can sell things off the car to pay for other things without exceeding the $500 limit.

Cheers!

It looks like we've found one down near where Aashish lives, I'll contact you if it falls through. Let us know if there is anything else on our parts list that you'd like to trade for a sponsor logo on the car. Cheers!
