  1. Hi All, here is a video my friend made (check out Drivingwhileawesome.com) about my 2002tii that I have had for about six years. I don't drive it nearly as much as I should, but I am hoping this inspires me to get it on the road a little more. Hopefully the purist aren't too upset with the few mods I have done.
  2. Someone recommended one of the Sem two part epoxies for putting on my rubber seals (trunk, door etc)... anyone try this brand? Which product did you use? Thanks, Jared
  3. dark blue rear bench seat out of 72 tii. Very good condition. Just took out because I but in 6-Series rear seats. $60 Also have rear bumper in good condition, few small dings, but fine for a daily driver. $40 - does not include mounting brackets or bolts. email me at jaredbasye at gmail dot com pics of seat on craigslist- pick up in Santa Cruz, CA only http://sfbay.craigslist.org/scz/pts/1296407269.html
  4. I'm having a little finding the part # for the the little clips (and plastic nuts) that attach the rear trim piece that goes between the two tail lights. I've lost mine after dissembling the car. Thanks in advance, Jared
  5. Has anyone tried the black ones on eBay with the Alpina logo? I thought about getting those.
  6. This was a helpful posting for me... http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,57/page,viewtopic/t,301904/highlight,bulb+guide/ http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProducts/AutomotiveLighting/
  7. I should have taken pictures when I removed my old rocker trim seals off, now it has been months and I don't remember how they went. The new pieces don't seem to match up length wise in any obvious manner. Any pictures would be greatly appreciated, I did some searching and couldn't find anything in the archive. Below are the seals part #'s I am trying to figure out. 18 SYNTHETIC STRIP VORNE 2 51726440147 18 SYNTHETIC STRIP MITTE 2 51726440148 18 SYNTHETIC STRIP HINTN 2 51726440149 Thanks Jared
  8. Looking for early rear Euro style bumper covers that replace the bumperettes. Pic attached. I am not as concerned with the condition of the chrome as I could get that re-done. Just want something straight that is not rusted out. Thanks Jared
  9. Lap results are posted on mylaps.com I couldn't find the awards anywhere yet.
  10. I have to give major props to all the guys in the Autobahn society, especially Tom and Aashish. They took a lot of time trying to get our E30 back on the course. You guys edged us by 1 place 80th and 81st. Can't wait until next time.
  11. cool pics- i like the variety of cars
  12. You said that the car had spark and new plugs recently, but did you examine the plugs? I had similar symptoms from putting a plug in without the washer and it piston touched the the plug and closed the gap. Probably not the problem in your case, but just one possibility.
  13. My rear bumper has some light surface rust and I wanted to get it re-chromed. Can anyone recommend a shop in the South Bay? I live in Santa Cruz and work in Watsonville. Also, anyone know a ball park figure for this kind of work?
  14. thanks Kris - I'm going to try to do a cleaner job than the last guy.
  15. I pulled off my rocker panel trim to replace the seals. The previous owner used some kind of adhesive to hold them in (looks like they poured a ton of some kind of glue in). Are the seals in supposed to be put in weather strip adhesive? Or does it push in and stay on its own? It's hard for me to tell as there is still a bunch of gunk I have to clean off the trim. Thanks, Jared
  16. I don't know all the details, as I own an early car, but you can put early bumpers on a square tail light as shown in the pictures above. It is a little more involved than just unbolting and bolting as the 74+ have more holes for their bumpers. You would need to get those welded up. Hopefully someone will chime with some details who have done it.
  17. Don't have them, but BMP makes them a kit. http://www.bmpdesign.com/category-exec/category_id/79/search_year/1972/search_model/6
  18. off topic, but this is a fun race video from my Lemons team.
  19. I'm no expert at all (really a novice on body work), but I have been doing some of my own minor repair and that looks repairable to me. I would just try to reshape as close as possible by bending, beating, pulling etc. If it didn't push the radiator, I think you are probably structurally okay. Then take your time starting bondo and sand. It seems like a lot less time and money than replacing. Like said above, patience is the key to body and paint. It ends up saving a lot of time and frustration in the end.
  20. yes, 3pt. there was a discussion the other day that was helpful to me with some aftermarket suppliers. http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,57/page,viewtopic/t,306857/highlight,seat+belt/
  21. I'm gonna try to make it the race Saturday, but my 2002 is in the middle of painting (for the last 6 months) so I won't be bringing that. If others are bringing their 02's I'd like to check them out though.
  22. Thank you, that was the info I needed . Did you end up using washers to space it out to keep the door from opening too much? I wouldn't mind if my door opened slightly less than stock. I've had a bad experience with it swinging too far open and denting.
  23. I did some searching and it seems like E30 door stops will work with some modification, are they are door stops from other BMW's that will work without modification?? I think I saw 530 somewhere?? I have a donor E30 I can use, but I would rather just bolt something on. Thanks in advance, Jared
