haha! I was intending to write the exact same topic today...

I used to see these pop up on eBay every now and again. The ratty ones would still usually fetch about $250.00

Anyone know whereabouts a set could be tracked down? Sorry to hijack the thread, but i'm interested in these as well...

if you want to try to track down a set you'd better start perusing the german ebay. i got a set of plastic ones for the 74-76 cars about a year ago. the earlier ones are more expensive. i had to salvage the light brackets from a bavaria, but i really think alot of those lights are essentially the same across several models.

an alternative is to merely get the lights and brackets and cut your grills (plastic ones) accordingly. it would take some creativity, but the standard plastic grills are easy to get.

fitting the light brackets requires welding an additional set of screw tabs onto your nosepiece and fabbing an additional support bracket to mount the inward ends of the light assembly to the nosepiece.

here's what i'm thinking: Retrofit a standard BMW dual-headlight system into an '02.

The grillework would be the hardest part, but it shouldn't prove too awful. Careful cutting and some creative epoxy/resin work could prove a nice result in the end... Especially if you have a 74-76 car, where nobody cares about the old grilles that you carve up.

A quick glance at eBay yielded the following:

Here's a pic of the buckets that came out of the Touring. The clean buckets are from an E30 (I think) and will (modified) go on my "project".

I agree, that with a little art/craft work you could probably cut an E30 grill & paste it into a cut down '02 grill.

Not normal for Jaymic not to reply. I've always had quick responses from them.

However, I have a feeling that Jaymic no longer have the twin-headlight grills; but, I could be wrong.
