MVP repro front grills

Hello All,

 

I have a new set of the MVP early/deep front grills and wanted to compare notes with anyone else who may have a set. On review, mine do not align in the lower hole locations. They are off by 1/4" of 5/16" when compared to my original set and the mounting points. Anyone having any issues here? Images below.

It appears that the mounting tabs on the repro grilles are epoxied to the grille itself, rather than being prt of the stamping as on the original. 

 

While they should align properly without any massaging from you, it should be possible to unstick 'em (some heat?) and re-glue 'em into the proper location.  Or just return 'em along with a template for the correct location and let 'em send you a proper one.

Return them, thus hoping MVP will take more care with quality control.

They are for improving their product when it doesn't fit or work correctly unlike a certain distributor manufactory.

Thanks Mike, I thought I might be able to move the tabs as well given the epoxy placement. However, the epoxy seems to be present for another reason as it isn't used to secure the tabs to the grill - just cover the inside edge - guessing maybe to aid the contact surface to protect paint or something. So out of luck on that front.
