My 02 has e21 hubs and vented rotors 

The e21 calipers can be made to work but my preference is the Volvo caliper

The articles on this topic suggest an 88 to 93 caliper for ABS which has only one brake line A search reveals these are hard to find but the are plenty of non ABS calipers that need two brake lines The question is , are the non ABS calipers usable ?  Do they fit the same ? Can they be used if the single brake line from an e21 master cylinder is plumbed to feed the two inlets on the non ABS caliper

If you have dual feed lines to the calipers you want the non-ABS units.  The cylinders aren't cross-drilled and match the stock setup for 2002's.

 

If you want a single feed brake line, you need the the ABS style as they share the feed to both channels in the caliper.

 

I'm pretty sure the typical mod is to use the non-ABS style for two lines.

 

The stock setup is dual feed with separated channels in each of the front calipers for redundancy.

Why bother? You'll still have a single circut brake, I'd just go with the abs ones and save some work.

I've never even seen the ABS calipers in the junkyards-

 

me, being a paranoid poodle, would refit the dual system.

 

But.

 

If I wasn't so paranoid, I'd run 2 lines back to the bracket, and then

tee it there.  Trying to tee at the caliper inlet itself is gonna be a right pain.

Interpreting what you just said,  the non ABS calipers will fit ( with the normal slotting modification of course)

The plan then is to use  flex lines from the caliper to the bracket on the strut and secure a Tee at that point.
