Deciding on a good ground point in the trunk

This is how my trunk battery is hooked up, has worked for decades.

For battery ground, I bolted it to the brace that the trunk lift bracket because the battery is to the right side of the trunk and the power lead follows the right side of the car to the firewall in the engine compartment.

A radiator shop is a good place to take a leak.

 

I have no idea what I'm doing but I know I'm really good at it.

I grounded to the hinge bracket in the top corners of the trunk...sturdy 8mm stud there.

Me, I'd pick something a bit stouter than the sheetmetal of the floor.

Just because I've spot- welded, and it doesn't take all that much

current to make a nice spot weld to thin metal.

 

If the floor's best for your particular routing,

then, use a pair of backing washers to give yourself

more area, and remember that the more VOLUME of metal, the better it

will conduct.  So a couple of thick fender washers will do a pretty good job

IF they make good contact to the sheet in a large area.
