I think it looked better before they put the goofy ss bumpers on it. It did however, along with the optional alloys, practically double the asking price.

Why does that front bumper look so bad? Is that the Blunttech SS ?  Looks too flat in the front.  Maybe mounted too close? Something seems wrong with it.

Nose has been replaced, seams not filled, snorkel, same as was done with my tii 30 years ago. Love the alloys. Agree it looked better with the original bumpers.

I suspect that whatever mandated the nosepiece replacement was fairly serious. Notice the cowl area. It’s not just the leading edge of the firewall lip that’s bent — which can happen with engine removals, etc. — but the entire panel over the plenum. If you’ve wrecked the center of the cowl, you’ve done some serious damage…

 

It looks like Pastelblau paint peeking through where the fresh Malaga has (already) chipped off.

I like old bumpers on new cars, but something looks terribly off on this install. I'm wondering if the Blunttech bumpers are that much different than OEM old bumpers.

IMO: if you must put chrome bumpers on a '74+ '02 and call it Euro, then do it like the Euro cars, especially if you are going to leave the knee moldings on. Putting pseudo '68 overriders on a '74+ car is insane to me........sorry if that offends anyone.

I’ve not had a chance to check, but I also have a feeling that Pastelblau was introduced very late in 1974, perhaps too late for this car. Nonetheless, perhaps this car passed through a “Pastelblau era” before arriving at its current “lipstick-on-a-pig Malaga”… ?

Not to beat a dead horse but something definitely looks off with this one and its not just the bumper. Check out the discoloration and crumpling on the driver side.

Without a photo, it’s hard to know precisely what you’re referring to, but the two photos attached below point to some… sorry moments in the history of bodywork and painting. Hey lookie, on the left inner fender, there’s some more of the Fjord (Pastelblau?) underpainting I pointed to on the firewall and heater plenum cover!
