It was actually a 1602. I don't know what happened to it. Supposedly some guy in Fremont has his E3 Bavaria.

Bob loved his BMW's, a capitalistic guilty pleasure for his struggle for jah people.  I saw him at the Apollo theatre in '79, what a show!

I thought all squaretails that were not a 2002, 2002tii or a Turbo were 1502's but i guess if it's a '75 it could be a 1602. I can't tell from the photos which it is. Rastaman Vibrations yay-ahh POSITIVE

1602's were made until 1975, all 02 from 1974 and up have square taillights.

 

If you search Google you'll find Bob Marley owned a 1974 red 1602 imported from England. You can see the English license plate sticking out from behind the smaller Jamaican plate.

I don't think 1502's had the chrome beltline trim.

Went to Mo Bay in 81 for the 3 nite Sun Splash then spent a couple weeks tent camping at Sammy Jackson's Sunset View on west tip of Negril. At the little store on the street one day was a rusty 2002 TI with open carbs. The enthusiastic owner was filling jugs and topping the radiator leaving the cap a little loose. Said he could go 15 or 20 miles at a time
