I hear Tom Jones and Delia live in California and when asked politely they may perform such tasks for some scratch.

Santa Cruz area would be Eric Friis and the man himself, Steve Kupper. Bart Ziegenhagen (aka The Resto Shop) and Jeff Hecox are nearby too.

Delia and Tom are about 1 1/2 hrs north…

 

FYI I don’t know if any of the folks I mentioned would be open to such a thing, but they all are rather astute, well-informed and highly regarded individuals (but you know that!)…

If you want a shop to look at it, have them take it to Catalpa Street Garage. They can do an inspection and write up for you.  Long time 2002 guys.

Nate Smith’s Optimal Auto Care is the local Santa Cruz shop that many friends have taken their cars to over the years.

 

Or, I can sometimes be convinced to travel down that way to do a PPI, if it’s made to be worth my time. ?

would love to but I'm airplane shopping again. Sold my last two and looking to finally get into the Bonanza I should have bought from the start.

Fly to SJC and one of us will fly you over the hill to Santa Cruz.  In addition to what was mentioned above, Motorspeed West in Santa Clara is a good place. And yes, everything here is names after Saints

Yes MSW did a PPI for me when I bought my '97 M3. I was very happy with their inspection.

Following up on this, Nate Smith (Optimal Auto) in Santa Cruz is an 02 owner and is trustworthy. Recommended for a PPI if need in Santa Cruz county.
