Bay Area Mechanic

Themis

Recommended Posts

There are a couple of threads on this topic, the most recent one being 4 years old

I'm in San Jose, and need recommendation for a good mechanic for my 02; I found the following places discussed in other threads, but was hoping to get a consensus/vote from members that have used these recently, with either good or bad results

-A&E performance Imports, in Campbell

-Palo Alto Bimmer

-Casey Motorsports in Petaluma

thanks,

Themis

Casey Motorsports in Petaluma is excellent, my usual place to stop when heading North.

Bill Arnold in San Raphael, does excellent work has repaired BMWs since the late 1970s.

Matteson's Auto Repair, 234 Grand Ave, Pacific Grove. Mike Berger runs an awesome shop. I highly recommend giving them a call. 831-373-5050

If you’re in San Jose, closest place would be Motorspeed West in Santa Clara. Numerous Bay Area FAQ members have used their services including myself, Steve Kupper (he created the FAQ board), Max (coastalcrush), Daniel (mojojoy), etc...

Definitely Wolfgang's.  Fred takes care of my 2002.  As well as my other BMWs.  He also races his 2002.

It really depends on what kind of work you want. For normal maintenance Motorspeed is close to you and more than competent. If you're looking for me, it depends.....

now: '72 Inka 2000 touring, '82 Alpina C1 2.3  & '92 M5T (daily driver)

before: a lot of old BMWs (some nice, some not so much), a few air-cooled 911s and even a water-cooled Cayman S

Looks like a Sahara ’74 in your profile pic-tii by chance? I have a freshly restored Sahara ‘74 tii built 8/1/74. Local car (Palo Alto) since new, I’ve known it for 34 yrs, bought it about 2 1/2 yrs ago. Just curious...
