‘72 Decals

I love these engines sticker threads, it’s like the dead sea scrolls. I can’t say for sure, but I believe the stickers in my ‘72 project are original, just given the general grunginess  of the engine compartment. They look and are placed like this (base mfg 7/72):

Thanks for these! They do look original. The hood stickers location is very helpful. There was a tii version of the tire pressure/gas sticker as well. I’ve found sources for all the stickers except for this one. Anyone know where I can find the tii version?

Also, at some point in ‘72 they switched from the clear emissions sticker that is in my car (4/72 production)

to the black version seen in the previous post for a 7/72 car:

We’re comparing 2002 and tii stickers here. And, Vince, the black-on-silver stickers may have also switched to white-on-black stickers depending on sub-model, as inventories of the various stickers were exhausted or replenished. The black-on-silver style seems to follow tii’s very late into the 1972 model year. I believe I also have an example of a 2002 sticker applied to a tii (below)... My point? BMW was not sweatin’ the details on these stickers.

And every time I make a generalization about the stickers used in a particular year, on a particular sub-model, forum members jump in with examples that disprove my generalizations! ??

Let me give it another go: I have not seen a black-on-silver emissions tuning sticker on a 1973 model ‘02, of any sub-model! Please, prove me wrong, again!

Best regards,

Steve
