My M10 is rebuilt with 9.5:1 pistons, 292 cam, electronic ignition and EFI with an aftermarket ecu.

Made 127.5 whp and 125.5 ft-lbs on a dyno-jet nicknamed "the disappointer." ?

It uses the e30 318i intake and fuel rail, an e36 318i throttle body, and an Electromotive TECs ecu.

and of course "WHP" in not an absolute number.   the same car on three different chassis dynos will produce three very different whp numbers.   comparing whp numbers between different setups or cars is useless unless done on the exact same dyno in the same atmospheric conditions.

Even Engine Dyno's differ from day to day and dyno to dyno.  I find Chassis dynos to be the most variable from one to the other.  Some are calibrated in Shetland Ponies and others are calibrated in Clydesdales.  I have not spent much time on the dyno with street engines so anything with a 32/36 or 38/38 carburetor or any camshaft under a 304 is something I just have not played with recently.

I have a 2313cc 2 valve M10 (92mm bore S14 EVO 87mm stroke crank) with a 336 cam on 48mm DCO carburetors that made 249 hp @ 8000 rpm (at the crank)  but it's not much of a street engine (13:1 compression ratio means Race Fuel @ $11/gal).

02 is not about horsepower.  It is a 50 years old automobile.  My 02 is the slowest car in the garage.  So what, it is your driving experience that matters.

Yes, but not really my point.  I'm really just trying to figure out what a "good number" is for a reasonably well built M10.  Most people don't have a stock, single solex M10 anymore.   I like your stacks, BTW.  Hoping to build a garage soon so I can have 1 working bay and 4 or 5 stacking bays.  Then the driveway can be for cars that can get wet.  :-)

That sounds about perfect for me. Hows the idle with a 292 cam?

292, 9.5,  dcoe's,  no "lumpy" at all.  idle perfect.

292 is a really mild cam.  there should be no idle issue.

My muffler is now much louder!  Wish my car idled that smoothly.

Impressive, Marshall!

Are you using stock motor mounts — there’s virtually no engine rock when you add revs?

Best regards,
