Thanks for the link to a great article!  It mentions that both Terry and his wife drive '02 Baurs, but they are not shown in the pics.  If you would like to see them, not to worry!  Three+Baur+Cabrio+Targas+in+Austin+Texas

We have them in Baurspotting at his Austin 02berfest, thanks to another Baur owner familiar here, Mike P.:

Plus lots more on Terry and Deb:

Here is an earlier post about this car:

Wait 'til you see THIS!

It just keeps getting better!

Cool, thanks for sharing.

I have only briefly met them, but Terry and Debbie are extremely cool people. The owner of my shop and our BMW tech have been to their shop and they raved about how cool it is.

As the article mentioned, Terry and Debbie started BIMRS, which is an association of independent BMW specialists. My shop is part of that group, and it is an invaluable resource. We have an annual meeting, extensive factory-level training, and we all share information so we can repair these increasingly complex cars at the highest level possible.

The group is very big now, with hundreds of member shops in the US and a number of them in the UK, Australia, NZ, and elsewhere. BIMRS has been effective in lobbying BMW for equal access to information and technology to work on all of the latest and greatest cars. If you own a newer BMW, find a BIMRS shop in your area at www.bimrs.org. You are likely to get more expertise than the dealership at a more reasonable rate with much better service as well. Shops are vetted before joining and must adhere to a strict code of conduct, or they are booted. (Note: this is non-profit group, so this plug is more of a friendly PSA).

Many of the member shops are also likely to have a stash of older BMW parts around, (though maybe not quite like the Saythers or La Jolla Independent!), so they are a good resource for DIY 02ers as well.

We were participating in the 2002 German Bavaria Tour also. And I´ve seen Terry´s white M2 targa but I didn´t know who the owner was at that time.

What a pity, if I had this information earlier I would have very much liked to change some words with him and his wife in person. Great article!

And I was born and raised in northern Germany only about 15km from Story Microcar museum Terry mentions in his travel report on his own website (last link in tomscat1´s post). That was always big fun when the BMW 700s and Isettas were gathering. Sorrowly museum got closed somewhen for a longer time because of problems with the fire safety regulations. Didn´t follow if they managed to open up again, might check out the former place when I pay my parents a visit next time.

Regards, Lars.

Terry and Deb are awesome folks and I am happy to call them good friends.   If you are every in Austin it is a must stop to go and visit the 'shop with no walls' and get a behind the scenes tour.

Terry and Deb really get around, especially when it comes to vintage BMWs.    Last year they joined us in Virginia for the annual summer drive in the mountains of VA/WV, here are most of us sitting on the porch at the Highland Inn in Monterey where we always convene after a fun filled day of toodling around the mountains and valleys.

Look forward to seeing them again in Arkansas

Here is a shot of Terry and Deb's M2 Baur at Vintage at the Vineyards 2012.  They do get around!  Nice Italian turn signals, too!  Pic by Harry B.!
