  1. Friend of a friend needs a windshield trim piece for his son-in-laws Baur.

Is thee a group or Forum he can post his "parts wanted ad" or just make an inquiry?

    Thanks.

    Mac.

  2. Baurspotting is sending this one around the world, via our blog and our Facebook page! Best wishes on your sale! https://baurspotting.blogspot.com/2018/11/shuffle-off-to-buffalo-folks-1974.html I can't paste the Facebook link for some reason, but you can find it in Facebook under: Baurspotting! https://www.facebook.com/Baurspotting-1415961761990371/
  3. Have you seen this? Thanks to my friend Bob Kaufmann for the heads up on this a little while ago! "This award winning collectable is priced to sell at $125,000." Yikes! https://www.bmw2002.co.uk/car-of-the-month/car-of-the-month-dec-2018/?fbclid=IwAR2WikzZC87dKQj2AXjoHSpB4VjmJqoeaKGw0GqHHOpuif1Yggi2WvUmEIk
  4. Looks like a beautiful example, Kujo85, congratulations! And you are correct: we do not see these come on the market in the US very often! That may be part of the reason that we have recently seen a number of Baurs purchased overseas (Europe and even Australia), and then imported to the US. Anyway, at Baurspotting, we are happy to help get the word out --- free, of course! --- when, and if, you decide to proceed to a sale. We have recently passed 1,000,000 views, and we have a world-wide audience of Baur enthusiasts! We look forward to learning more about your Baur, and are happy to add any info or pics that you want to share to our posts! Welcome to Baurspotting! https://baurspotting.blogspot.com/2018/11/new-to-us-1974-baur-targa-in-new-york.html We will also be spreading the word through our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Baurspotting-1415961761990371/ Best Wishes from Connecticut! Thank you for posting these pics. I have added the link to the Baurspotting blog and Facebook page posts (which have been shared numerous times already), so lots of folks have seen this.... around the world! I hope you don't mind! Best wishes!

  6. Well, I can't say if he owns anything by EDDIE Bauer, but.... here is Bower's Baur! And, if you'd like to see it, I believe his Cabrio Targa by Baur may still be on display at BMW, Spartanburg, SC, alongside Dirk de Groen's Voll Cabrio (also by Baur), where this second photo was taken!
  7. As it turns out, David Alan was not the only person to shoot a video of Vincent in his red Voll Cabrio by Baur that same day in October 2015! Vincent participated in the Mille for MS Rally at Pocono Raceway that day, and was on his way home when David spotted him. However earlier in the day, Vincent and his Baur were ALSO captured on a video during the Mille for MS Rally on the Pocono Raceway! Vincent shared the video with us today. Check out the 3:35-3:41 section of the video: top down BMW Baur fun on the Pocono Raceway! Here are a couple of screen shots of the Pocono video! Photos are a little blurry because, well, that's what happens when you are doing 100+ on the speedway! He said he surprised a few Porsches that day! Link to the video: enjoy! https://www.facebook.com/christopher.houston.37/videos/10206095117149823/UzpfSTE1OTI0MDUxNzc6MTAyMTU2OTg0MDQ4ODUxMTc/?comment_id=10215698441846041&notif_id=1540296302647700&notif_t=comment_mention
  8. Small Baur World.... Strikes Again! Ed Ullom's 1600/2002tii Cabrio Reappears! It all started out innocently enough, with a 'heads up' from our friend, and fellow Baur owner, Mike Pugh in North Carolina. A previously unknown Baur Cabrio Targa had been spotted at the Euro Auto Fest in Spartanburg, South Carolina last weekend. Some pics had been posted in the 2002FAQ, and, after doing a little follow-up work, I learned (from another friend and Baur Cabrio Targa owner, Don Bower) that this Targa had just been purchased recently by Scott and Fran Hughes from Oldenzaal Classics in The Netherlands (whom we have written about before), and that it had spent most of its life in Rome. It sounds like a great story, and we look forward to learning more about it! But, as often happens, I took a little detour onto the Oldenzaal Classics site to see what ELSE they might have on hand, and I was not disappointed. Sure enough, Oldenzall has lots of other interesting cars for sale, including a nice silver 1600 Voll Cabrio by Baur! So, naturally, I did a little post about it for the blog and our Baurspotting Facebook page and..... that's when the coincidences..... got a little crazy! I shared the Baurspotting post on the 2002 page, and a guy named Vincent J. Gladfelter comments: "I GOT A 1968 1600 CONVERTIBLE!" Well, that always gets my attention, but I did not recognize his name, and frankly had no idea where he might be on the planet. So I checked his Facebook page, where I found this photo of a red Voll Cabrio! Whoa! I recognized it immediately by the wheels and the front plate! I knew this Baur! In fact, I had seen this Baur in person 7 years ago on my 'Roaming Baur' trip through Pennsylvania! That is Ed Ullom's 1600/2002tii Voll Cabrio that disappeared from sight when he sold it back around 2015! (And who is Ed Ullom? He is very well-known and esteemed car dealer and collector, and the recipient of the prestigious BMW "Friend of the Marque' Award back in 2012! This Baur had been part of his Bullenstall Museum Collection in Mechanicsburg, PA! He had converted it from a 1600 to a 2002tii at some point.) We have 'spotted' it several times, including a great video on the highway by David Alan, but the owner has eluded us! Until Now! Welcome to Baurspotting: Vincent J, Gladfelter! And thank you Baurspotters: David Alan, Collin Blackburn and 'Ultimate Klasse' for helping us keep track of this elusive Baur! It is indeed a Small Baur World! Here is the whole story, with tons of photos: https://baurspotting.blogspot.com/…/small-baur-world-strike…
  9. Thanks, Don! And here it is getting shipped to the new owners back in August! Congratulations to Scott and Fran Hughes! We have lots more pics here: https://baurspotting.blogspot.com/2018/10/new-cabrio-targa-spotted-in-south.html
  10. Hi David, congrats on your successful trip, and thanks for posting! Do you have any other information on that Cabrio Targa by Baur? I could not read the license plate, but any info would be helpful. I had heard a rumor of an impending Baur arrival, bu this is the first I have seen of it! We are trying to catalogue all the Baurs in the US. Thanks in advance! Tom https://baurspotting.blogspot.com
  11. The 12 Dianas have consecutive VIN numbers, so it should be easy to identify them. There have been reports of Dianas in Japan and also in Iran, but none of them have panned out as authentic. Since the Dianas were built at Baur in Stuttgart, Baurspotting has done a number of posts on them over the past few years. This one has a pic of the Japanese faux "Diana" at the end of the post: http://baurspotting.blogspot.com/2013/05/bmw-2002ti-diana-by-baur-in-canary.html http://baurspotting.blogspot.com/2015/02/more-on-2002ti-diana-by-baur.html http://baurspotting.blogspot.com/2012/07/1974-bmw-2002-ti-diana-targa-like.html http://baurspotting.blogspot.com/2013/04/bmw-diana-cappucino-by-hubert-hahne_22.html Enjoy!
  12. Thank you, NIck, and I think you are correct. The messageI I got was unclear on the count, so I will correct it.
  13. Yes that is indeed correct. Tim's car is in the center; the Baur Targa Cabrio that Dirk and his wife drove is on the left; and the Cabrio Targa that Mike and Eileen Pugh borrowed for the trip is on the right.
  14. Thanks to our friend Lissa "the Intrepid" Rickman for sharing the pics from her brief encounter with The Bavaria Tour 2016 on Saturday. Because it was only a brief encounter, with dusk fast approaching, Lissa was only able to squeeze in a mere 377* pics. !!!! She is indefatigable and, along with Michael Compensis, our newest Baurspotting Heroes! Kudos! The Intrepid, Indefatigable, Globetrotting Vintage BMW Photographer Extraordinaire: Lissa Rickman! With Richard Stern's beautiful 2002. For all of us out here kicking ourselves for not joining the Tour this year, here is another reason to be upset: we missed seeing this beautiful green 1600ti Alpina Voll Cabrio! More pics here, plus all of Lissa's pics! Thank you, Lissa! http://baurspotting.blogspot.com/2016/05/stars-of-bavaria-tour-2016-1600ti.html
  15. Note that the '02 in the center of the pic has a Louisiana plate! 13237697_10153788531737672_4222856863613149006_n.jpg
