No, THANK YOU! I can't even begin to tell you how many hours I spent on the internet trying to find this picture or one like it. The others are the same car, I just need to figure out what races those were, which shouldn't be a problem with a little time. It adds to the story of the car and fills in a lot of the blanks, Really cool.

Vin plate of the car and the Trento Bondone Tag (Front) and the 256 on the back designating the car's number. The cow catcher front spoiler is (was) fabricated out of aluminum, pretty heavy and wasn't in great shape after a few accidents.

Andersson, as always great pics. As I had mentioned, I had sort of given up on the cars life after AlpinA, I knew that it had been raced in Italy for a number of years, however the where and when were a mystery (other than the Trento Race). I know that it cam back over here to the US sometime in the early 80's, somewhere i have some notes as I was able to track down two of the people that had owned it.

a bit OT, sorry.

@ Markmac: I asked a friend in Italy, so Ricciardo Ricci lived his last 15years in Brasil. Died in 2007 in the Age of 78. Now he (or better his urn) is back in Pontedera/Italy. He was an participant of the 24h race in LeMans 1962 with Alfa Romeo. My friend took also a nice photo of your car. But we do not know where and when. Maybe we will get more infos in the next days/weeks.

Not off topic at all (I don't think). its a 2oo2, its a racecar, its a historic race car.... Awesome image. When I first acquired the car I thought for sure it was a Schnitzer Gr. 5 car (or at least a Gr. 5 car with a Schnitzer engine). Aside from the engine, it had all the special fabricated bits that only Schnitzer (or AlpinA), Gs would do. Since it had all the Gr. 5 bodywork and wing it just seemed like a fit. It took my friend Gier Muren in Norway viewing many images of the car and some record images for comparison, then the same thing to ALpinA. A friend of mine suggested I write a short story/book on it - with all of this it adds to the story, quite incredible really.

The plug of that front spoiler is ready, ran out of time today, tomorrow I make the mold! (then a few parts).

I am going to really have to think about painting the car back in that black scheme - pretty cool.
