Within spec. Chucked mine up in the lathe to polish. Good as new.

If there's any doubt about the rocker arm shafts, new ones are only about $25 each.

FYI, make sure all the threaded head bolt holes are clean and free of any oils or fluids.

+1 on this (shop towel, paper towel, brake or carb cleaner, QTip, etc).  Use a shop vac to help remove debris from the combustion chambers and bolt cavities.

 

Hard to tell - but make sure the timing chain does not fall into the front cover...

It's actually a plastic cone brush.  I use it for tasks like this where I don't want to damage the underlying surface.

Yes to all of the above.  Cam chain is zip-tied around gear... Not going anywhere.

20 minute, 2500 RPM cam break-in procedure completed last night. Final torque, timing, tune and road test this morning.

Based on my research I'm going to set the timing to 35 degrees total.

Timing set. Carbs close. First test drive... Awesome! Very happy!
