electrical and ignition Alternator?

Hi

 

I am restoring my first 02. The alternator installed is not a OEM one. I have been searching for replacement options and found out that the Bosch alternator is the way to go. My concern is which kind, 45, 55, 65, 95 amp?

 

Does it make a difference?

It depends if your car is a early or late 2002 model.

Early model : Bosch, 35A20, max. Current 35, max. Output (watts) 490

Late model: Bosch, 45A22, max. Current 45, max. Output (watts) 650

Try Ireland Engineering's "warehouse".  Stock Bosch alternator is about $95

...or upgrade to the early E21 alternator and save real money on the lack of voltage regulator.  They work better, too.
