This is the 2nd time I've driven this Canyon 1st was a month ago , great drive, practice for Willow Springs next Sunday. I'll clean my windshield next time LOL. Great road but I was cautious as it is a public road !

Very nice! Reminds me of some of the back roads around here in upstate NY. I will have to do a GoPro of the original WG road course. It is still all public roads today & is on the national historic register so that it cannot be changed. I of course, will have to wait another 2 months to get the 1600 out of storage. Great Video!

Cheers , the canyon is less than a mile from my shop in Uptown Whittier , so close but I'd never done it before .My set up is stock 1971 bottom end with flat top pistons (soon to be swapped for a higher compression / balanced set up ) port matched 121 head , 292 Schneider cam, 2 45 Dellortos ,Crane HI 6 ignition & an Ireland stepped Header , through 2 glasspacks the PO put in. driving like that & on the freeway I got 22.8 mpg with a 4 speed trans on 87 octane gas. I'm well pleased with the set upbut looking forward to getting the CR up to take advantage of the carbs & cam. Willow Springs on Sunday so I'm off to film something even more fun.

I bought a used GoPro3 White edition, I use the official GoPro suction mount on the inside of my windshield, Sunday at Willow Springs I plan on adding side window inside to see gauges etc & outside on rear quarter. Andrew is going to movie edit it, so hopefully I can perform :) The Go Pro mount is insanely strong.

That's a very fun road, especially coming from Beverly in Whittier! I live in Fullerton and one of my fun getaway drives is to take East Rd west to Hacienda to West Rd (west) into Whittier then over to Beverly and up Turnbull Cyn. It's great fun on the switchbacks because you can see the entire corner, except the tight blind right hander near the top. Thanks for the vid, I enjoyed it!

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
