What about installing a 123 Distributor?

I bought a new centrifugal Bosch distributor from Pelican about 2009 for the tii which was not curved correctly for that engine so my plan is to use that one - but the 123 unit does sound better based on the feedback I have read here.

I'm going to go 123 on Vern and Athena in 2016.

Glued the rear quarter edges of the headliner this morning, cleaned up the vinyl edge trim pieces, installed them and trimmed the leftover edges.

Cut an opening for the dome light, pulled it thru then installed it.  There are still wrinkles -  maybe I'll borrow a heat gun.

Now for the part I dreaded...cutting the opening for the sunroof.

Went pretty well - all glued up now.

I'll install the visors and sunroof parts this week.

It would be awesome to see your headliner install in the tutorial section! I have been debating whether I wanted to tackle this on my own or send it out. Your pictures and info will really help me out!

Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the kind comments.  I've thought about trying to do something with the "corrupt" headliner installation in the under construction section.  My biggest regret is not taking Mike Pugh's advice and trying to iron the wrinkles out of the material before I installed it.   I may add on to the excellent one that Clay Weiland did for his 67 (non-sunroof).

I Saw Clay's write up as well but seeing one for a sunroof car would be great. The biggest concern I have is with cutting for the sunroof opening.

Make sure to view the excellent BMW Classic video of the Inka tii. Great details in that long video. It was posted not too long ago here.

Our offices closed at noon today.  No pictures taken this afternoon.  Even cranking up the heater it is cold the garage.

Received and installed the Bosch reman. alternator from BLUNT.  It even came with a pulley and cooling fan.

Filled the steering box with 80w-90 gear oil

Sourced some vinyl sheeting for covering the doors.

Pondered how to run the 12V power cable from the junction block to the starter.

Wondered why Grice took his 2002 out Wednesday night.

Good progress, yeah, I was wondering that too about Grice. Glad nothing bad happened.

Worked on the door panels today.  Glued some areas back down and installed new fuzzy window seals.  Too bad the interior aluminum top trim pieces are NLA. I installed some OK ones sourced from other FAQ'rs.   Still puzzled why my car didn't have this aluminum trim.

Cut the vinyl door sheets and used some 3m Strip caulk to fasten them to the door.

When trying to screw the 71 armrest to the (76 inka) door, the rear screw doesn't hit anything -  nor the lower front screw.  Damn.

Reviewing the old door pics, I see there are (2) capture nuts missing.

Here is the new alternator.  Had a hard time installing the new fan belt with the adjuster bolt all the way down - the alternator housing contacts the water pump.

Anyone else notice the "12 days of Christmas" sale by Pelican parts?  The first day, they offered a great deal on Momo steering wheels.  I got a Prototipo wheel and hub.

Most of my neighbors have been out shoveling their driveways.  The wind and more snow just keep covering it up.  I haven't done squat outside.

Pics from this afternoon.  Can't even tell there is a black E90 under that mound.

Picture from about 7pm tonight - still snowing.  I don't think we will be going anywhere tomorrow nor Monday.

Dang Jim!

For your door - my advice is Rivnuts

I used these to install the passenger side mirror on the 308.  Very handy.

I hope you have enough food to last until the thaw, and don't have to become the Donner party....

PS - that wheel is really pretty.
